Message on my voice mail: "Hi this is Mark, please call me back at 920-686-8891. I .." then, the message was cut off. I called back and it's a collections agency - AMERICOLLECT.

Caller left message identifying herself as "Linda", asking me to "press 9 now, or call me back fer sure (Wisconsin accent) first thing tomorrow".  Gave an 800 number.

Hi "name", This is amber(real snotty), please call me back at 920-686-8891. Who the hell gave her my cell number.'

You rock! Thanks! I figured it had to be a bill collector since my number is new. They think there so slick...

"Hi, this is MARK, call me back...I..." then it hangs up - everytime! What a jerk! They are crooks! Worst of the worst! They call at rude hours when they THINK thye are above the law and its going to stop...

They call us on phone WE pay for, without our permission and leave NO way for us to stop them.

Its rude, its unfair and I am going to take this and others straight to the District Attorney tomorrow (I work for the State) and frankly - I don't care if it is a bill collector! We all struggle from time to time - I say BACK OFF!!!

There are laws that say they can't cross certain lines and they cannot call on Sundays! This has got to stop! I have had enough! Don't you all agree we should feel comfortable at least answering our OWN cell phones??!! I mean are they paying our phone bills or are we?? Who's rights are being violated here?

" Hi, this is Lisa, call me back at " than hangs up at 920-686-8891 or press 9 now." I have tried to call back numerous times and get no answer!! Sick of these people. As Kris said, we all struggle from time to time. Try out of work 5 times in 7 years between us. I am going to start tracking what time I call back and get no answer. I have also started answering to Unknown numbers in jibberish!!! yakadidodo, etc!!!Than I hang up!!
I will be glad to be on a petition to stop this.

No details to tell about.  I NEVER answer numbers I don't know or "unavailable" phone numbers.  They call quite a bit and today they called, hung up and called right back within seconds.  There are laws against days and times that they can call and they can be taken to court.

I got a call from this number. I answered the phone. The lady was very polite. It was for a bounced check for about $60. OK, no big deal. If I have a bad check, I'll pay it. The woman said "This is the city of Manitowoc." I agreed to pay for the check, then she said that she needed to record this. Once the recording started, she said, "You agree to allow AMERICOLLECT to withdraw these funds from your checking account..." HUH?!? She misrepresented herself on the phone, saying that she was the city of Manitowoc.

Lying scum!

"Hello is *John* there?" No, may I take a message? "Yes please......" Okay, who is this? "Nicole." And this is in regards too? "Just let them know I called." Nope, buh bye.

They wanted Tammy, but no Tammy lives here.

Some lady called and left me a message. I don't owe any money. Who was this? What do they want?

They call me at work - all the time.  They have my personal phone number, yet they have only used it once.  I answered and told them to send me a statement of what they claim I owe and they told me they couldn't do that.  Now they just call my work number.  I think they are trying to get me in trouble with my boss as I am not supposed to have personal calls.

This crap has to be illegal. This idiot left a message like he's a "friend" of ours and wanted us to call him back. Never represented himself belonging to a company and sounded sleezy as hell (almost stalker-like). Said his name was "Ben". We are under bankruptcy protection from these types of calls, I'm calling "Ben" tomarrow and telling this farktard where to shove his damn phone. IDIOT.

OK once again another "friend like" call. I saw the # 920-686-8891 on my phone, having some friends in the 920 area code, i called back. The lady said she wanted to talk to (my first name). ( Then my first and last name) I knew right then that it was probly a collector or someone i didnt want to talk to. I said may I take a message? She said oh just have her call (her name) back @ this number, I just have a couple questions for her.
Why do these people think they can call and trick people into believing that its a personal call. I guess its a 'good tactic' in the collections business, but can someone tell me the statistics of how many transactions are actually successful as a result of tricking people into talking to them?  ANYONE???????? I would think it would upset people more beig decieved.

Number showed up on my Caller ID with "Unavailable Number"(synonym for someone you do not want to talk to). Computer indicated call came in on a secondary Ringmaster line for modem use. Not my listed primary line or ever given out. They are looking for someone other than me. Must not be very good sleuths. Wish I knew how to get a phone number that did not have a dark history of association with undesirable callers. About 25% of calls to my house are from people and places I do not know, or want to know. These collectors have a great time with aggravating their debtors as well as the same number of uninvolved people, some who may be seriously ill and should not be disturbed unnecessarily. Maybe these collectors should be forced to a more legal approach or at least to USPS contact only.

I paid my debt in full.. they were great to work with..pay your bill it gets them off your back..whats the big deal??
