On feb 17 at around 10pm i received 3 calls from the number on my cell phone. I was unicel and just ported my number to verizon on the 15th. The odd part is that i am not the account holder or primary account number but the person calling, who i could barely understand, knew my first name and asked me if i remembered them. I and my fiance both asked their name but could not understand what we were told. She told them not to call back and have not gotten any more calls. I find it unsettling that they knew my name as well as have my cell phone number.

got couple of missed calls from the same code (923) and have actually answered one of the calls, i can just hear people talking in foreign language to me. I was intrigued so i googled to know from which country it is and it was a surprise to see loads of complaints and experiencing the same thing. Guys i think we should be careful, it might be a "Modus Operandi."

Hey my friend got a call from a number similar to that one: 923-237-666616. He told us his name was ali and he supposively "Talked" to her on aim. He asked for her id and her email address. Wierdo.

Tonight, I just recived a missed call from this unknown #(+923237554248), which seems to be from somewhere in TAJIKISTSN. I was curious and once I called back it was off.

In some non secured countries network, it is easy to steal and control your phone and specially with mobile phones to have international calls under your expense. They could be any bad gyus doing illegal buisness.

Just becareful.

This person keeps calling me at one to three o clock in the morning. They constantly are texting me and sometimes its just letters not words. When i answer the phone, they instantly hang up and it says call ended. They've even called me during class! So far, all that i'm aware of is that the persons name is faisal.

I have had 10x calls from +923-427-561246.
I live in Dubai, I called the guy back and he said he was from the local telco called Elisalat, I think the scam is that the call backs are charged at vey high premium rates. The best advise I can give right now, is dispite how anoiying this can be, NEVER call back, as you may incure HUGE call costs. We need to follow this up with the local telephone/mobile company, so the BLOCK these numbers.
