- mariaI get a call from the 925-439-8689, - some other 8*** number, and a prefix of 888 and 866 all doing the same thing - not answering if I happen to take the call. on average I get a call every 4 to 10 minutes throughout the day, every day, and on weekends too. been going on for the past week and a half. no one answers. a call back says the number's been disconnected. very annoying. I've discovered it runs its course after a while if I don't answer. calls start at around 6am and go to about 10pm. I just turn my phone off and turn it back on every so often to make sure I haven't missed relevant calls throughout the day. as I've been sitting here typing, I've received three calls. yes, very annoying!

- Anon| 2 repliesICANN is the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, in other words, it is the organization responsible for administering/overseeing Internet domain names. According to ICANN rules, anyone registering a domain name "must provide identifying and contact information which may include: name, address, email, phone number, and administrative and technical contacts."
In the very first post in this thread, someone suggests that the business possibly responsible for these calls is the National Renewable Energy Center. I have not independently verified that. I would guess that domain name would be nationalrenewableenergycenter.com. I have not independently verified that, either. I would suppose that technical contacts for the domain could be a contract web site developer not directly connected to the business, but that the administrative contact would be an employee of the company (there is also probably contact info for abuse, probably abuse of/on the web site).
Here is what I would do to see if it will stop the relentless calls from this number:
Do a "whois" search (https://whois.icann.org/en/using-whois) of www.nationalrenewableenergycenter.com. If that doesn't work, try http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp.
The registrant, admin, and tech contacts are all grouped together and give that person's name, address, telephone number, and email. I would expect they have what's called "private registration," which means that the name and email is not the person's true name, but a pseudonym or anonymous emailer/remailer. That is legal.
Write a nice email or make a nice telephone call to the Whois contact asking them if they are responsible for this flood of calls and, if so, to make the pesky telephone calls stop. Tell them if they are responsible for the calls and don't correct the situation immediately, you will report them to regulatory authorities, including but not limited to the BBB, FTC, and FCC. It helps to have your phone on the Do Not Call Registry. Tell them you are going to pass this strategy along to other forums which publicize robo-call/telemarketing abuse.
I had more than 20 calls from them yesterday between 9:00 AM and 11:30 AM, some as little as two minutes apart. I got so tired of it that I sent complaints to National Renewable Energy Center via the feedback form on their website, posted a complaint to A1 Solar's Facebook page (A1 also suggested as being related to the calls). I had some free time, so I did the Whois search and sent an email to the contact listed on the report.
I have heard nothing from them today, the first time in about two days they have not bothered me. I don't know if one or none of my emails worked or what, but I'm not complaining.
Disclaimer: I have not verified the participation of either National Renewable Energy or A1, but have relied on information posted elsewhere on this site by others.
Good luck.- Caller: not sure
- Joanne replies to BettyI am at my wits end with this company. I too have asked them not to call me, I am on the no call list and also have solar already. This has not stopped them, I have reported this number several times to the DNC registry without response. Today they have called me 35 times starting at 8:15 am and continues all day today. What more have you done and how do you go about enforcing the $100.00 per call fines?
- anon replies to Anon| 1 replyNo calls today at all, at least not yet

their number is 925-270-1407 - JohnHere is the number of the telemarketing director (Uzzi) - 310-743-2501. He is the one responsible for all the annoying calls we have all been receiving from A1-Solar. I got this number from an A-1 Solar employee after complaining and then inquiring who they specifically retain for these phone calling services. I asked for names and numbers. Above is what I received. Please give him a call every time you receive a call from these guys and let him know how you feel.
