Rental Scam? They sent: "Hi,  We are 2 couple from Colorado. We love your house and would like to rent it for 1 week in September. My email address is: vpipe.mag@gmail.com Thanks!"

Looks like it.  I got the exact same message on 6/25/15.  Shouldn't it say "couples?"  Looks like a scam waiting to happen.

Got same message. I have my house on VRBO but this message about 2 couple from Colorado came to my cell

I have a house on VRBO too.  Got the same message for the same date, "1 week in September" on my cell on 06/25/2015.  It has the same typo. "2 couple" instead of "2 couples"

Also, A google search for vpipe.mag turns up a site www.pipemag.com/ with a warning message "This site may be hacked"

Same here, with the same message.
I was already suspicious since it did not show the dates they were looking for.
I texted back and haven't heard back.

The same message was received... For September and 2 couples. I answered via SMS to request a formal quote and to give name and information. NO Anwer yet!!!

CLEARLY THIS IS A SCAM targeting VRBO and Homeaway advertisers since many people are reporting it today.  Most likely they are trying to get your email address so that they can then send you a phishing email a few days later that is personalized.

I just received exactly the same message and wording, from the same phone number.  I also have a property listed on HomeAway/VRBO.  Thank you all who are commenting.  I wouldn't want to miss a booking but this "smelt" too fishy.

i got the same thing....

I got the same text to my cell....I replied to use the vrbo site for all communication, and they didnt reply or follow through....
