- EAReceived a call from the same man from five different numbers claiming to be calling for Zara Yasin. When I asked what the call was regarding, he said he didn't know the "substance" of the call. I told him, "Well, call back when you DO know."

- Dan G.Called my work number and left no message. If it's not worth leaving a message, then the call was not worth placing in the first place.
- M AnthonyRarely get calls from numbers I don't know. Didn't answer they didn't leave a message but that there are so many others reporting the same I would assume it is some kind of random dialler/unwaranted call
- N/ACalled my place of work, didn't leave a VM.
- Caller: N/A
- Call type: Telemarketer
- TireIronGot a missed call. No VM.
- BFAnswered a call from this number (928)863-3360. Got a person with a European accent asking about attending a seminar in San Diego. He got very nervous when he read my email address to me and I pressed him for information on how he got my home email address linked to my work phone number. The two are never linked. Told me my name popped up on his screen and the info came from a Prospect Database company.
Reality is I just set up a Linkedin account days ago. While Linkedin claims to not share your email address except with your connections that must be a lie since I have no connections yet. The guy was very nervous when I confronted him about Linkedin and why he would call my work. I was mad and didn't think to ask for his company name. It didn't seem like a "scam" but just a solicitation. Pretty sad way to market and possibly cost people their jobs.- Call type: Telemarketer
- BFFollow up to my post above I forgot he mentioned that he emailed me too. I found out the company is TruthinIT.com regarding a seminar on Backing up for IT people. Legit call I guess but it's just frustrating how he got my info and to call me at WORK!

***Truth in Caller ID Act of 2009***
The Truth in Caller ID Act of 2009, which was signed into law Dec. 22, 2010, prohibits caller ID spoofing for the purposes of defrauding or otherwise causing harm. In June 2010, the Federal Communications Commission adopted rules implementing the Truth in Caller ID Act.
FCC Rules
•Prohibit any person or entity from transmitting misleading or inaccurate caller ID information with the intent to defraud, cause harm, or wrongfully obtain anything of value.
•Subject violators to a penalty of up to $10,000 for each violation of the rules.
•Exempt authorized activities by law enforcement agencies and situations where courts have authorized caller ID manipulation to occur.
Tips for Consumers
•Don’t give out personal information in response to an incoming call. Identity thieves are clever – they often pose as representatives of banks, credit card companies, creditors, or government agencies to get people to reveal their account numbers, Social Security numbers, mother’s maiden names, passwords and other identifying information.
•If you get an inquiry from a company or government agency seeking personal information, don’t provide it. Instead, hang up and call the phone number on your account statement, in the phone book, or on the company’s or government agency’s website to find out if the entity that supposedly called you actually needs the requested information from you.
•Please let the FCC know about ID spoofers by calling 1-888-CALL-FCC or filing a complaint at www.fcc.gov/complaints.- Caller: Reported traced to TruthInit.com

- At WorkI've received 3 calls this week from unknown numbers on my direct line at work. I was not at my desk when the calls came in (late afternoon Pacific time). After looking up all 3 numbers on this forum I'm seeing very similar messages about someone asking who was at the number so they seem to be related. 2 left no voice message and 1 is just a really loud message that sounded like heavy wind... I couldn't pick out a distinct sound and definately no verbal sounds.
