US CAD Inc, calling on behalf of Jeff Kruger.  I've had 3 such calls and none of the caller know the reason for their call!

All have very strong accents.

Female with difficult-to-understand (and annoying) accent called on our main line for one of our partners.  Supposedly, she had an "Andrea Chesney" on the line.  The executive called did not know this person, so the idiot who called did at least tell me the name of the company (Deloitte Recap) - after I had to ask.  I asked the nature of the call, but the idiot didn't know.  I told her to ask Andrea Chesney, but she "couldn't do that."  I told her that if she can't tell me the nature of the call, and if she can't ask the caller the nature of the call, then she shouldn't call!  Seriously, Deloitte Recap (and all other sales spammers), this is not the way to get through to a top (or any) executive.  It's ESPECIALLY rude and disrespectful to have your underlings make these calls on your behalf, then ask an executive to get on the phone with the underling, waiting for your sales staff.

Asian telemarketer that calls for IT executives.  Sounds like it's coming from a call center, I highly doubt that it's originating in Flagstaff, AZ.

Received a call asking for me (mispronounced my name) when I identified myself, they hung up. Any clues?

They record the call, your name mispronounced, and you stating the correct pronunciation. They edit these audio clips as verbal authorization for sales of products to your company. I bet you used the word "yes" in the call too. The script they use is crafty, geared towards getting the words they need to make a fraudulent order of some kind. Might not be right away, but they have it. Common method for dealing with these people is to speak in a foreign language to them, such as Vulcan or Swedish. I enjoy gettign them off there script and mining them for information that is not on their scripts. Its actually quite fun toying with them.
