This is a telemarketer who won't take me off of their list.  They call and call.  They change up the number they call from. 931-623-2999 is just one of them.

This number just called me and it was a recording, which I believe is illegal, telling me that it is important I call back because I could lower my interest rate on my credit card. I don't have a credit card, or a ssn in the US. Just sayin'.

Regular Cell Phone User - KY
I answered a call from 9136232999 on my cell phone at approximately 2:15pm CDT on 04/15/10.  It started with a voice recording from “Rachel” alerting me of my credit card standing (which I know is fine).  It is my last opportunity to lower my rates, so I should consider this my final notice.  Then, a different woman’s voice came on the line (also a recording) asking me to press 1 to get started or 2 to be removed from the list.  I pressed 2 and the call ended.  I am not sure if I did the right thing or let these companies know they have a live number…

04/14/2010 - 2:26pm CST.... Just got a call from "Rachel" about my credit card. Funny that I don't even have a credit card in my name! I don't think we can go any lower than my current 0% interest....There is only one credit card in our household and it's under my husband's name solely. I pressed the second option to be removed from the list, but this is not the first time I've received a call with that exact same recording and followed the exact same measures to be removed from the calling list. Not sure if letting them know my number is a live number is such a good idea.

You have to mess with these people and waste their time. No cussing or threating them. Just wast their time.

I just received a call 2:29PM CDT 04/15/2010, pressed 1 and transfer to 'Kevin'.  He gave me the spill about interest rates and if I wanted to learn or get my interest rate lower.  I said 'yes' in a feminine voice.  I asked him if his name was 'Stephanie' again in the feminine voice. He stated it was Kevin.  I said "oh, so Christina then' in the feminine voice. He said "uhh, sure that is it." He stated something else about the interest rate again. I said "So what do you like to do?" in the feminine voice. He bluntly stated "I like to suck alot of dick!". I almost started laughing but held it. I said "Oh really!?" again, in the feminine voice. Then I asked "So what do you like to do on Saturday nights?" in the feminine voice. He stated "like i said, I like to suck alot of dicks.".  Still holding my laugh down, I asked again "So what is the call center guy next to you doing?".  He stated "He is sucking my dick right now." in monotone serious voice.  I busted out laughing with my co-worker who was listening and Kevin started to laugh also.  He said his day was boring until now and asked "Sir, do you want me to take your number off the list?". I said "I don't care because this [***] is funny, you can leave it on.".  He told me "Sir, I'll take your number off". I said "Ok". He said "Ok, have a good one. bye."  He hung up.  See! you can have some fun with this and waste their time!

They hung up as soon as I asked who they were. The voice of the caller was NOT foreign. The male that answered sounded very mainstream. From the abruptness of their hung up, I presume that they are looking for people to target for fraud.

Caller identifies herself as "Rachel" then says "there is nothing wrong with your account.." at this point I hang up. I have been getting calls from other numbers from other parts of the country with the same messaage. This has all the red flags of a scam. What is most disturbing is that I have recently gone all wireless. These calls were coming on land-line and now are coming in on my cell phone.

No Telemarketers, please replies to Ashli

You might want to make sure you haven't had someone take your information and open a card. It happened to my sister once. I only say this b/c the telemarketing company had to get the no. from somewhere (unless your phone number, similar to one above, belonged to someone else before you).

Actually, the telemarketer can "get" your number by simply dialing all numbers of your prefix, thus no actual "list" exists.  There is absolutely NO way you will have a card compromised and be notified by a third party before being notified by your credit card company.

I got this call today, too, but simply pressed "ignore" on my cell since I didn't recognize it.
