Called picked up no answer when picked up line.
Called them back...they are looking for someone who isn't able to be reached at this number.
When asked to remove the number the [***] I was talking with became VERY rude and personal attacking when advised collection calls aren't accepted and to send written documentation.

I received several calls from this number there is never anyone on the line, but you can hear them in background. I have tried calling back and simply end up in voice answering machine hell.

Caller didn't say anything, but I heard background noises.  Caller hung up after a few seconds without saying anything.

asked for person in charge of paying electric bill.  then gave false account number.  made it sound as if they were going to shut off power due to late bill.  bill isn't late and the return number they gave is false. they called my business.

Called my office; asked for whoever handles the Duke account. Told caller we don't have Duke. She started talking over me, telling me about their energy plan. She was very rude, so I hung up on her.
