I also got a call from this number, and called it back after I missed the call.  It's the University of North Texas.  Not sure who called , or why.... maybe to get money since I'm an alum.

It is a UNT number, but the 940-369-XXXX is usually a dorm number.  A 940-565-XXXX number would be official UNT business.

It's the Phone-a-Thon area of the Advancement office in the Gateway Center. Not all UNT 369-numbers are dorms (my office fax is a 369, and so are some of the staff numbers). I answered this call, and this time, it was a fundraiser for the College of Business. Specifically, they said they were concentrating on two areas: private money to begin a campaign to compete with SMU in the DFW radio market and also for scholarships. Since my husband is an alum, it was him they were calling for, but they had me in their records, too, of course. These are student jobs - they're just college students looking to make a buck and stay in school. Even if you don't give money, you can just politely say no. I had a nice conversation with the kid on the phone (an English major) even though I didn't give him any money. Of course, next time they call, they might be fundraising for something else, maybe something for Education majors!
