Coast to Coast Grand Getaways! They have been calling me for months. They claim I have equity in their company and 4 free airline tickets plus free cruises. This is funny. Why? Because I have never used or would use a scam get away company. They buy your information from frequent flyer programs and legit websites you may have used when booking a flight. So SCAM. Google search the company and add scam to your search at the end. Don't fall for the trap.

Got a call, with an 800 number left in the message: 800-594-9435. They knew my first and last name. I called back, some fellow asked me for my name, I gave it to him (they already had it) and I got a call from the 941-552-4074, guy named Paul Something... He is with Coast to Coast, they have purchased the old accounts from a CheapTickets dot com company where I "had" lifetime membership. I might have had a lifetime membership in one of those companies, that could have been over 10 years ago, never used then, never used it since.
Anyways, I have an equity built in my account, of $3000, I would be eligible for immediate $1500 bonus, AmEx $50 card, blah blah blah... Now, they have to properly dispose of my account, and to secure it, they need to update the credit card on file (he gave the last 4 digits of a card that died years ago). I suggested to use part of the equity and secure the account that way. No can do. I asked to mail things to me for me to review it, but he had to dispose of the account now. I said, that in over 10 years that account was OK, it sure could wait a few more days. But Paul HAD TO process the disposion of that account now.

So, I said:  CANCEL the account.

Hello? hello? Paul?... He was GONE!!!

    lol...

    Clean getaway
Thanks to Courier's post, I knew what to do when I called these guys. They gave me the same story: I had $3000 in equity from a holiday I purchased as a member of CheapTrips (I never purchased anything from CheapTrips except a worthless membership.), to sweeten the deal they'll add on a bunch of additional nights and weeks at resorts, and an AmEx gift card and and and; all told it was a $15K value. I just needed to give them $350.00. I told him I didn't think this was on the up-and-up because I had never purchased anything from CheapTrips. Oh well accept this as a goodwill gesture, he says. Send me a membership package, I asked. Oh, they can't do that. They Coast to Coast Grand Getaways said I was the first person to ever ask to have my account closed. I said I doubt that. He got mad and disconnected.

Bottom line is, you might be tempted to think that trip Coast to Coast Grand Getaways thinks you purchased from CheapTrips was a lucky clerical error in your favor, but it wasn't. This is a classic sales tactic. They try to convince you that they are the good guys, "Coast to Coast Grand Getaways is taking over CheapTrips customers who they can no longer provide service to." It's all a sales line. You could call them today at 800-594-9435 and get the SAME EXACT DEAL that I was offered, even if you've never heard of CheapTrips or Coast to Coast Grand Getaways before. Give it a try. I did.

I am going to be on loading up some of the real good ol boys and take a grand getaway to Sarasota to get my money back or in blood. I found out this company is complete bs after not being able to get my money refunded from Paul Ruiz. Meeting a new friend who can not wait to get his hands on a Jason Wise. I notified my attorney, so bond will be posted if we can not come to a mutual agreement. This is not a threat or premeditated violence, I just want my 84 year old grandmothers money back. Have reported these two and a scumbag bu the name of Patrick Fowler to FEDs in Tampa. They will be getting a visit from the gold shields from Morgan St very soon!!!!!

    Thanks to your posts
Well, I just off the phone with Shantyle Rose from Coast to Coast Grand Getaways. She told me the same thing about $3000 in equity from Cheap Trips. All I had to pay was a renewal fee of $349 and I would get all kinds of freebies including the 4 free domestic flight airfare, 3 resort weeks and amex card. Sounded too good, so I told her I would call my husband first. After I hung up, I started googling.

Thank you for the posts. No matter how good it sounds, it's all empty promises according to everything I read. I kept asking about blackout dates or if there are extra fees during booking. She said there were none. How will I really know?

Their reputation is very bad.  Should I give a total stranger my credit card for promises? No Way!!!

I got a call at work from this very rude person who gave me this spiel about Cheaptrips and how I had equity in their company and Cheaptrips  was not servicing their clients so his company had taken over etc etc. I told him I don't remember investing in any Cheaptrips company (if I had it was forgotten) but he kept badgering me and finally I told him I did not want to talk to him and put the phone down. he called me again  and left a very rude message wondering what was wrong with people like me who are not interested in their money. A bit scary...

I can't believe the date on some of these posts, as I got a call TODAY (Feb 15th 2012) with exact same story. Pretended they sent mail package to me, then called and left messages and never got a response etc etc. When faced with the fact that there was no way I was going to disclose my credit card number on the phone to someone who called me, and asked that he sends info by mail or e-mail and I would get back to them if interested, he got upset and rude and started arguing that he could not WAIT for me to get back to him etc etc.
What I don`t understand is how this guy keeps up with his criminal activities undisturbed... I am from Canada, I don`t believe I can call the RCMP! But please, can someone in the US call the FEDs and report this fraud?????

same place same# just called my mother in law, good thing i was here, she would have given this guy her money.  googled info he was giving me while he was on phone because i knew better.  elderly are most often victims of these frauds, it's disgusting.  next elderly friend you see, warn them about how many people try to scam the elderly and even all ages.  we need to spread the word as often as possible to stop these scums.  i'd like to break their fingers so they can't dial the phone anymore, but that's just a thought, i refrain from the actual violence.

Paul Ruiz, Grand Incentives. Gave me the whole spiel. Hung up when I said I wasn't paying any more for something I supposedly already owned... lol.

I have received a number of travel scams since booking my cruise out of Miami.. not sure if it's the parking company I booked or what, but it seems like somebody is sharing my info. They all have name, address and email. Interesting.

Just got off the phone with Elisia from Coast to Coast Grand Getaways and was very persistent on my renewing my membership with them since they acquired Cheap Trips.  I hadn't used Cheap Trips since 2008 and did not have a membership with them. I told him to cancel any memberships he shows for me and that I wasn't interested in getting into a membership with them either.  He was very persistent.  I ended up hanging up on him.  I am so glad that you can google phone numbers and come up with the other information that was provided from others like myself.  Thanks!!!

Somebody (or some thing) called from this number this morning at around 10:30 PDT.  Caller ID says 'GRAND INCENTIVE".  I didn't answer and no message was left.  I see from the posts here however that this is just another scam telemarketer.

big gay dude you talked to
same thing here but it was so much fun!!!!  would not hang up.  said i had an account in 2006, which is 6 years ago.  you can tell them not to call you anymore and if you just bought something from them they might not legally have to oblige you.  but if it's over 18 months since you had contact with them, then they have to do what you say, remove you from their list.  i'm on do not call and it was a cell phone, so they do fall under the do not call rules.  i was on the phone with him for 15 minutes.  it got SO OBSCENE.  or rather i got so obscene.  i said the most vile, rude, horrible, ugly things to him i could think of.  it was hilarious, my friends were listening in and i think they might have peed in their pants. guy would not hang up or take no for an answer.   finally dude lost it, which means, BONUS ROUND.  he said stuff to me, he got so abusive and nasty that i actually for real started to like the dude and if he was in the same city i'd buy him shots of tequila, "no homo" ( i think that is how they say it).  i'm really gay and talked all about sodomizing him, he said i must like little kids too and he was in marines, i told him only if they was his daughter, and went all don't ask don't tell on him.  my ex is a marine and those guys are unbreakable.  here's the fun part -- he finally put me through to his manager and i started in on the manager and his sexy voice, and he might have been from the northeast, so i asked him if he was a new york jew and why do they circumcize because i like my men uncut.  so he told me that they won't call me again and i better not call them again.  and then he hung up on me.  if they call you they can make all the threats in the world and you can talk as trashy to them as you want and there is nothing they can do.  so the ending of this story is --- I WON.  woohoo!  if you can get the telescammer to hang up on you then YOU WIN!!!  woot!  and he said he was a marine.  my 'don't ask don't tell' marine friends and acquaintences and ex and not-friends -- marines are the toughest of the tough.  so today i got a marine to back down from me and get his mommy, er, manager on the line, and mr man-ager hung up on me.  i win i win i win.  it was hilarious, my buddies were listening in and they just about died laughing.  i'm probably going to hell for it but it was fuuuuunnnnn!!!!

for me, telemarketers are right up there with PETA, mormons, busted drag queens, republicans, liberals, McVangelists, Maggie Gallagher, atheists, Bill Maher, Franklin Graham, and fundies.

have fun with them, y'all.  my nips are hard.
