I can 100% attest to the fact that if you go outside and yell into the wind you will get some fresh air and will absolutely stretch your legs.  Just don't do it in the middle of a Polar Vortex and you will be fine!  Doesn't do anything to stop the calls though so maybe while she is out there she could try one or all of the following?  Semaphore flags, smoke signals, carrier pigeons, two cans and a really long piece of string?
