    Unfamiliar numbers without adequate caller ID just get blocked before they finish ringing. That's what just happened to this mooch.

    If you haven't figure it out yet, be on the lookout for calls from numbers in your area code that share an exchange prefix identical to yours or off by one. It's a psychological ploy to get you to answer numbers that feel somehow "close" to the one you have.
