    The caller,  Laguna Beach CA ( displayed  as ID on our phone ), used 281-1978 without area code  ( Laguna Beach CA 's area code supposed 949 .). When I returned the call hiding my number  & dialed 281-1798 , a lady message told me"" The number 213-966-0005 you just dialed has been disconnected  or no longer in service. When I dialed 949-281-1798 , a lady message told me the number is not in service. Those messages are not from my phone company-Verizon.
    I reported to www.ftc.com do not call & www.fcc.gov/complaints.

    I generally don't answer when the Caller ID is not something I recognize.  I also don't answer when it says Unknown as this call did.  I can't tell you who called only that I went online to look up the number before the phone stopped ringing.  When 800Notes comes up in the first 10 hits, I know I have a scammer.
