- Johsnospam call
- 949 area codeI answered without looking to see the calling number and heard the usually robodialer delay. Then a female voice with a vaguely Commonwealth accent asked, "Mr. XYZ?" using my deceased wife's name. That was solid evidence of an uninformed caller since she and I used different last names. I just said, "Wrong number," and as I was putting the phone down I heard an unconvincing, "Oh. I'm sorry."
When I looked the number up on other caller ID websites I discovered this is a credit card phishing scam. Now blocked. - annoyingcalled two days in a row --
usually do not answer calls I do not know - however, was expecting someone...
heard a delay and then a computerized voice goodbye......- Caller: 949-281-2408
- David WLet it go to voice mail/screening. A recorded voice played over my outgoing message saying something about being important I call back. Then a computerized voice said "You have been kicked from this conference."
No idea what the scam is, but no reason to answer them either. - 714Lrn: 12132560999

- Patsy Morris| 2 repliesGot a call from this number and the lady with a thick Filipino accent said that she was offering a free heart scan for me and my husband. I liked the offer, so I said that I would go, but after listening to her spiel, I was a bit apprehensive about going. She wouldn't tell me the name of the clinic we would be going to, other than it will be close to my home, so that I won't be inconvenienced. I then asked the name of her company and she acted like she couldn't hear me and then the phone went dead. Earlier in the conversation, she said that she would call me on Thursday, to give me the address and a special code, so that I will get my scan for free. Has anyone actually gone for the scan?
- Taken to the cleaners replies to Patsy MorrisSounds like an insurance billing scam to me. At some point I'm sure your insurance would be billed from these 'consultants'.
- unknown replies to Patsy MorrisYes, me too, she pursuit me since last week to make appointment with the clinic located in Irvine, CA (on Barranca Pkwy street), but did not give out the address yet and she said this FREE Heart Scan for only married couples, no singles. I asked why she knew my cell phone and she said some friends/relatives referral and I asked her who and she said due to confidentiality, she can't disclose... that's understandable... The weird thing is she kept calling me since last week many times (days or nights sometimes 7, 8PM PST) and I never pick up my cell until today and I am kind of skeptical b/c if it is FREE, why she kept calling me even though I did not pick up the phones since last Wed??? Now, today I have times to check on this phone number 949-281-2408

- ChristineMan called our private office line looking for a staff member who was out of the office at the time. Sounded like he was reading from a script and stated he had very important information about her heart and she should call back right away. He said they were from the Irvine Medical Center and she needs to speak to Mary Jane Lopez, but he was obviously a filipino male. He requested her home and cell number, but I just said he could give me their number and I would pass the information on. I googled the number because it sounded suspicious since no doctor's office will give out medical information to someone who is not the patient and found the other comments listed here.
