I called this number back and they announced it was Verizon Wireless

Claimed it was Verizon Wireless. Courteous, but UNWANTED!

Got a call on my cell from some guy claiming that our Verizon contract had expired. He was very persistent but I had other things to do, so told him to call back. He was displeased.

The weird thing is I haven't had my phone for two years, I was out of the country two years ago and my husband's name is on the contract -- if anyone should be called, it should be him. Scam?

Same here.  I once hung up on them after calling them back.  They still call and I just ignore them.

Hey they called me saying something about a credit on one of the phones but were asking for the account holder by name (Not me, Im on a family plan). So they called the wrong phone.  

Yeah Im pretty sure this isn't verizon. Heres some info I found on it without buying any reports though the reports.

They just called me on my cell phone, just a minute ago. I didn't reconize the number so I didn't answer. Listened to the message and they claimed that we could get a free phone if we extended our contract. They were not verizon. Must be a scam.

I just received a call from this number tonight and didn't answer it because I didn't recognize it.  How do people get these numbers from Verizon?

Just got a call from this number from Verizon Wireless.  They were just letting me know we could upgrade our phones now and about the new plans they have.  She actually had information about me that only Verizon should have (what our plan is now, our phone numbers, my email address), so it looks to be really Verizon.  She didn't ask me to provide any information.  She wasn't pushy and it seemed to be just a courtesy call.

I just got a call from this number claiming it was Verizon.  The gentlemen was very polite and wanted to know if I wanted to add any phones to my account.  When I told him I already had the maximum for a family account he said thank you and hung up.  Seems a little fishy to me.  I would have expected an actual Verizon representative to at least suggest that I upgrade one of my phones.  He gave up to easily for someone who's job is to sell product.

When ANY solicitors call me I tell them I'm on another call to hold on please while I hang up with other parthy and I LEAVE THEM ON HOLD.  IF they call back later, I do it again. Eventually they stop calling.  ;-)

All my numbers are on the " DO NOT CALL " list, must be scam considering my account is current

we got a call on our land line from this number - the guy asked for my husband (he knew the name) and that was it.  They never called back either.

Just got a call from this number.  Didn't answer, and they didn't leave a message.  I'm not calling it back because it seems like a scam.

Take the phone call to the restroom, and make a lot of ...noise.
Solicitors never call back again.

We have been getting countless calls from this number.  We have not picked up.  We did today, and they asked for us, pronouncing our name incorrectly.  Denied knowing the person, and they just hung up.  Thanks to all your posts, I was not victimized.  I appreciate your time.

It's the first of the month! Time for these stupid [***] scamming jerks to fire up their auto-dialers and call people claiming they owe them money!

I just got a call from this number claiming it was Verizon.  The gentlemen was very polite and wanted to know if all was going well with our service in our area.  It seemed to be a wireless wellness check, I told him all was good he said ok thank you and if we need any assistance just call Verizon and to have a good day.

They called and said the were verizon. I asked her to prove it so she put me on hold and had me listen to the hold music. Then she came back on and asked me if I heard the music and she told me when I hear that music it means it's verizon calling you.

The funny thing is is that I don't have verizon. I'm on AT&T! I told her to [***].
