For the 17th time in the last few months, this time from 689-207-8040, (hint, hint, always from another number) the same shallow smooth talking babble of a business loan offer:

"Hi I just found your information on house.com.  I was looking for a few contractors.  My name is James Dawson I'm calling you because since you are a contractor and it looks like you've been listed on house.com for some time.  I do still have your business prequalified for up to $500,000 business line of credit.  Starting at just (inaudible) %.  Now the funds can be used for project financing marketing your business.  Kind of like what you're doing on house payroll or really whatever else you might need it for.  If you think of something like this could be useful for you please give me a call back at 949-365-4020 again that number is 949-365-4020.  I hope you have a wonderful day and thank you!

832-263-9119 called 10 Jan 2022 at 9:36am and 9:38am from 904-299-8384 double ring at the same time. "James Dawson saw business on Houzz.com offering SCAM Business Loan of up to $500,000 business line of credit at 4.8% but offer expires soon. Call him back at 949-365-4020." Also calls from 213-248-0252 and many others.

I have reported 949-365-4020 to donotcall.gov at least twenty times now and the calls still keep coming.

Scammers trying to offer up to 500,000 loan  what a joke block this number right away , you know they are scammers when they use one # to call you and they ask you to call back on a completely different #

Business loan scammer keeps calling. No caller ID - just a bunch of messages from "James Dawson" about being qualified for a business loan. Surely with modern tech something can be done about these people. Actual number displayed on caller ID of last call was 203-902-7837.

Scam Caller- Leaves voicemail claiming to be James Dawson AKA Sean promising low interest loan rates.  Anyway, if u call back, u get a disconnect signal.  This guy calls once a day and has been tagged as potential spam caller by phone network.  Never says which bank he is with:  DEAD GIVE AWAY, FOLKS!

That is because the FCC is in charge of the DNC List.  It takes about 10 million complaints before they do anything about it?

The FTC manages the DNCR and shares enforcement power with the FCC. The long backstory I won't get into here as to the FCC declining to accept all DNCR oversight two decades ago.

I'd agree that in a B2B context there's no point to invoking the DNCR or using the Registry's complaint channel. I however doubt that either agency would reject direct complaints about an apparently egregious phone spammer. Most things affecting interstate commerce are after all within the FTC's wheelhouse, and abuse of telephone networks interests the FCC.

Sadly there are many fraud shops set up to exploit the lack of protection afforded to business phone subscribers. We have to remember the rules were written before those thieves could leverage autodialers and Caller ID spoofing to their unfair advantage. We must also note that the two Federal agencies remain woefully understaffed to fight the present tsunamis of trashy calls.

Calls go directly to voice mail, no number where the call originated. The voice mail says James Dawson. Have had 3 calls from this supposed individual. Claims approval for business loan. Never applied, have no intention of calling any number left.

My question to the powers that be on 800 notes was partially out of frustration and as a serious question. I’ve had this happen before on very simple stated posts I’ve done. Matter of fact without the post even going up, just went straight to pending moderator approval. For simple statements like, web designer telemarketing for website reconstruction. I’m not sure how that could merit an instant flag but it did. I have read the ToS several times and I have followed those ToS. In my first post I had stated the person calling multiple times, included the voicemail that was left and stated they were scammers and that I had had no contact or requests for them to be calling me, it was flagged. Why? In my second post I noted that I had been the first to post about this particular scammer (and they are with 100% certainty a scammer) my post was put into moderator approval also. Why? Was it because I posed a challenging question the moderators didn’t care for? When I post I post what information I have on the call and share my experience which is what the ToS wants you to do. I may throw things in like they are liars, because they are, I’ve had no contact with these people or made any inquiries for them to be “calling me back”, or pretending they are familiar with me. That said, I’ve never been abusive so what put my posts into pending status? My proof is that both my original post regarding my experience, which was not abusive and followed the ToS, and my direct question of the integrity of some of the posts are “pending moderator approval” for an unknown reason.  In fact as of this writing there are 10 post pending approval and that is 10 examples to my point, in my view. I can say that over the years I’ve been using this page, I’ve never seen that many in one post. This seems unusual, all 10 didn’t meet the TOS guidelines? In the ToS it gives no other specifics as to why a post may need moderator approval. It says post your experience and don’t be abusive or use abusive language. It appears as though the moderators are hiding behind the “we reserve the right” portion of things? If that’s the case it makes this site potentially biased if there are other motivations behind making a post wait for moderator approval. By the way, does the approval ever come? Serious question, because from what I’ve seen the answer is no. You say I “spam the page”. How do you mean? Because I came back to the page and posted a second time? I don’t memorize the numbers, I noted the call back number, checked it on this page and realized I had posted on this page previously and that my post was removed. This prompted the second post (and now 3rd). I will say this is the first time I’ve made a post like this but you asked me a direct question, I’m giving a direct answer. I share my experience about a particular number so others can see that someone else received a call from that particular number and they may want to avoid or not answer a call from that number. This is how I also use this page. By checking on the suspicious numbers that plague me, even someone with a post of “keeps calling” or “who is this call”, anything simple, is helpful to me because I can confidently block the caller to avoid the call in the future. These spammers/scammers do sometimes call back from the same numbers. You asked why I didn’t post about the other numbers that show up on my caller ID. When James Dawson and the Myriad of other names from this call back number call me, it rings 1 time from one number, shows up on caller ID voicemail as another and ask to be called back on this one. They call daily, sometimes 2 and 3 times and they were before your question and since. That’s a lot of numbers to report, so my answer is simply that it’s a lot of work going through 3 numbers for the same post. I’ve found that if I put all 3 numbers in one post, which I did, someone Googling the other numbers will still bring them to this post so I can kill 3 birds with one stone. It works, I checked. Perhaps 800notes can come up with a way that all numbers in a post can come up when searched instead of just the main number being reported? It would be a helpful feature especially given your comment. I’m stepping off my soap box. I do also want to say this about this number and the person calling from it. They started out with Jennifer, then John, Mark and lastly Sean talking about Dunn and Bradstreet scores and wanting to loan 500k, never having spoken to them or inquiring with any other business about a loan. That Morphed into James Dawson calling first claiming he found me on Houzz or house.com, neither of which I’m on and finally claiming he found me on Angie’s list, it’s not called Angie’s list anymore just Angi. I consider this site to be a valuable tool in helping prevent not only being scammed, but having my time wasted with the many calls I tend to get in a day from these scammer/spammers. I would like to continue posting but when my efforts are “pending moderator approval” it feels like my efforts and the time I spend doing this are not appreciated and I would think that wouldn’t be, isn’t that the whole point behind this site? I don’t know, just my thoughts.

I brought out my copy of War and Peace and I think that it is actually shorter.  I will have to read through that several times because you seem to keep drifting off subject and then repeating yourself.  I will also have to see if someone can supply me with a copy of the posts that were removed.  I will say this though.  Each thread has its own phone number.  It is for calls from that number and that number only.  That was how the site was designed and that is how the site remains.  As to the rest, I will have to get back to you.

In your first post you reported 3 different numbers.  The two that you received calls from and this one.  You did the same in your second post.  So you are not using the site correctly.  This is not a catch all thread for all the different numbers you get calls from regardless of whether it is the same subject or not.  You thoughts that Google will return results is also flawed since then people will start posting here instead of the correct number threads.  The site was set up a certain way for a purpose.  Your posts defeat that purpose.  As to posts being removed immediately, well that would be the filter.  Since no one but the administrator knows what words/phrases/links/etc. trigger it I can't help you on that subject.  No one wants to read the Great American Novel either.  Most people would lose attention after the first couple of words.  Whether you will be back to see this or not is anyone's guess but at least I replied to you.
