On my lunch break, as a courtesy, I answered the phone with a simple, Good Afternoon, instead of my usual business greeting.  A woman with a lyrical accent said....something.  She spoke too fast! She rushed through the first part of her introduction where maybe she stated her name and/or the name of the company she represents, and perhaps that she called to verify employment.  I did not understand her, except for when she said that she was calling 'on a recorded line' - a phrase that in my professional opinion has been hijacked by ne'er do wells.  I said that I could not understand her, requested that she redial.  She called again and her introduction was much shorter, "I'm calling on a recorded line."  I ended the call.  Later I dialed the number back and reached a voice mail greeting:  This call is being recorded.  Please hold while I try to connect you. Your call has been forwarded to the voice mail of Ann Armshaw.  No one is available to take your call.  At the tone...... Spidey senses:  activated.  Scam suspected.
