This is a student loan scam. A man does not identify who he works with and says something about "forgiveness". TOTAL SCAM.

I received a voicemail from a man who said his name was Adam. No last name or what company he represented. He called regarding a letter supposedly mailed to me saying I was now eligible for a forgiveness plan, and gave me a pre-approval code and asked that I call him back at 949-681-9781. The number I was called from was 805-941-9916

I too received the exact same voicemail. Adam with no last name or name of company working for.
The caller ID listed the original call came from ‭+1 (405) 915-1964‬ Shawnee. Oklahoma but his call back number was 949-681-9785

I got a call from a 900 number with this number as a call back. The voicemail did not specify a company or what the “forgiveness” was for. Shady

Received call from (628) 215-8140 someone supposedly named Adam regarding a letter he stated was mailed to me about a Forgiveness and to call back. He left a reference code/number and no Company name, Etc. SCAM - I Didn't call back.... MSG Below

Hi there this is Adam. I'm just giving you a quick call here I'm following up on a letter that we mailed you stating that March 2. You are now eligible for the forgiveness plan. I looking your file right here your preapproval code is 8D a Z25J Uhm can you give do me a favor just give me a quick call back. Uhm call me at 949-681-9785. Again my direct line is 949-681-9785 and we could talk about your options. Again my name is Adam. I look forward to connecting and helping.

Same response but  instead of 9781 it was 9785

Same as above weird call from Adam it sounded like a scam

Same name Adam called me to but of forgiveness plan I want to call him back so  I can not tell him any info and if he asks I can laugh at him !

Also received a call from Adam. Referring to forgiveness...with the pre-approved code. And asking I return his calI at 949-681-9785. No indication who he works for or what he's forgiving.

Using the name Devin now, apparently I'm qualified for a new hardship program, whatever the hell he means by that and they can get me in and he's looking at my file now....blah blah blah

Okay, and? They're criminals. Why would they care if there's a national crisis?

Same scam for both me & my husband. Such a shame that scammers are bothering us at this time.

I received a call from 9705363197 they left a message. this is Devin, I have great news, you qualify for a hardship. If you could call me back right now while I'm looking at your file that would be great. My number is 9496819785, Your file number is 6F18CR2. Even my phone is telling me it's a scam.

I received a voicemail and no missed call notification on my phone yesterday. It didn't sound automated (like a real person was talking) but the voicemail picked up mid-phone number. I never got a name but he told me I qualified for the Hardship Program.  Gave me a file number and told me it was sitting open right in front him if I could give him a call back on his personal line ASAP. The file number is the same as another poster above. I did not respond.

I received the same message today (and no notification of a missed call) but the voicemail picked up earlier so I got the whole phone number twice this time. Same file number and everything.

I have the same exact file number. Now you know for sure it's a scam

I just received a message from a Devin. He didn't give a company name, and he never said my name, just that I qualified for a hardship program, which I don't need, and left a file number. He said he had my file open in front of him right now and to give him a call back.  I did not call back. Nonsense!

Wow, we have the same file number! Are we the same person?! Ha!

I just got the voicemail too, and when I called back his extension he left me in vmail, it did not go to him or to his voicemail (Adam). It was routed to a general line where no one picked up and there was no voicemail again, and my call got disconnected. Seems totally like a scam.
