I believe this is fraudulent call

This Leslie Owens called a nonprofit organization and left a detailed message that we were in danger of being sued...get a lawyer...call back...blah blah...when I did call back, no answer...

this person is also using phone number 646-274-1928.  These pukes have nothing better to do!!!!

The call stated that it 's federal treasury and there is a legal action. Please return a call immediately and obtain a legal representation.

Same call didn"t bother calling back.Definitely a scam. Don't fall for it.

Did not pick up the phone, as I don't know anybody w/that name or number.  After reading the posts, I can report that I had several calls in the past stating the same, about the police, etc. etc.  The caller had a heavy Indian or Pakistani accent.

Received a call...very aggressive about me being named in a lawsuit for me to get an attorney and have them call her back.  Told me to have a blessed day.  Really...

There are numerous telephone and email scams in which individuals claim to be employees of the Treasury Department. These scammers often state that they are from the “Department of Legal Affairs,” offer grant money in exchange for you wiring a small payment, or threaten to arrest you within a short period of time unless payment is made. Do not provide personal information or payment to these individuals.  Their actions are crimes under Titles 18 and 31 of the United States Code, and the Treasury Office of Inspector General is working to stop them.

If they claim to be from Treasury, report  it to OIGCounsel@oig.treas.gov with a description.  If it was a phone contact, include:
the exact date and time that you received the call(s)
the phone number of the caller
the geographic location and time zone where you received the call
a description of the communication.

If they claim to be from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or it is about taxes, report it to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at:

"Hi this is Leslie Owens with the Department off legal affairs and I was trying to reach you in regards to a very important issue. This is a verbal notification for you in regards to the enforcement actions that have been started against your name. My number is 949-945-9311. If for any reason you are busy to call back. I would suggest you to have your retained attorney to do it for you as delay in calling us might end up in a legal mess for you. I hope you take this and call me right back. This is Leslie Owens with the Department off legal affairs. Looking forward to speak to you until then have a blessed day."    A few things fishy with this...she didn't leave a name as to who she was calling for and I don't believe the Department of Legal Affairs would be saying to people to have a blessed day.  I tried calling the number back and she did answer but it didn't sound like she said Leslie Owens though.  I tried asking her a few questions and she ended up saying "have a good day" and hung up on me.

Just got a call from this morning, it was from 718-819-7702, saying there would be legal action taken against me, but also got one about a week ago with a guys voice. Same message, just no name left!

I received  the same Call. This is Leslie Owens from the IRS.You must call back or have your Attorney call back.Charges are being brought against you. Department of legal affairs phone number 217-960-6585.I got a different phone number then everybody else. Mine is from Chcargo. LOL  I  blocked the number.

This phony Leslie Owens could not tell me who the Secretary of the Treasury is!
