said they had a pending request for lawsuit or something or other for a pay day loan i got several years ago. I didn't remember it, and i know that if you ask for a letter and original account info any collector should provide you with that. Any way they sent an e-mail same day with all the original account info on there, I called Advance America who i took the loan from and spoke to the recovery department, at this point i did remember the pay day loan and the trouble it caused me with the bank when the check i wrote them bounced. Any way i followed that chain of title all the way back to Fellowship Corp. I'm not in the position to pay all of my debt, but i called them back and got a pretty good settlement. surprisingly they were nice over the phone, i think it was the agents name was anthony kent the manager. settled the debt for just a little over the original loan amount, they did a recorded authorization sent me a paid letter. i was reluctant to pay but oh well..- Caller: Fellowship corp or fellowship financial

- JoshGot the same spiel one day, and and second message on day two asking for a different name. Seems like a phone scam, especially since they claim to have called multiple times when everyone here attests to it being the first call they've recieved.
- Caller: Fellowship corp.
- BrendaGot 3 calls from Ken Bowers and 2 calls from Cathy Jones. Fellowship Corp. They said they've tried me several times and it's imperitive that I get back to them today or they will move on. Well, I've got the messages a few days in a row now on my cell phone. Different people, different file numbers. If it's collections, anything I had is being paid through a chapter 13 payment so I don't have anything else. If its a telemarketer, not interested. They are just getting to be a pain.

- Beezee MomThey called my brother who gave me the message. They are referring to themselves as World Wide Assets. They are trying to collect on a Walmart card that was opened in my name in 2003 and payment were being made regularly until Jan 2008. I never had a Walmart card in my life. I told him I just ran a credit report to start cleaning up some old stuff and it wasn't on there. He said after seven yrs of no payments if comes off the credit report. Well if that's true then it should still be on my credit report until 2015. It wasn't there. So I called GE Capital/Walmart to get some information and they were supposed to be sending out paperwork to me. Still haven't seen any of that and that was over a week ago. The guy was very nice though and did say he would take a settlement of $500 and change. I said well, since you can't provide me with a signatur or even copies of the payments that were being made to prove that it is mine why would I pay for it then. I have never denied my debt. May have paid it late but never said I didn't owe it if I did. I have made many deals with people to pay stuff off.

- HelenThey called and said they were World Wide Associates and they had left 3 messages (which wasn't true so a big red flag).
- Caller: World Wide [***]
- LeeI am a front desk receptionist and our business received a message that stated, "We are World Wide Associates and we are trying to contact you. Please call back." I called back with the intent of having our business number removed from their calling list. The operator asked for a "Gary" something or other. I responded with "No. That person does not work in at this business or office. Please take our business number off of your calling list." Can you believe that the operator actually told me no! She could take the number off the list because I'm not Gary??? THIS IS HARASSMENT AND NO BUSINESSES CANNOT RELEASE EMPLOYMENT OR WORK VERFICATION OVER THE PHONE. IT IS ILLEGAL AND AN INVASION OF PRIVACY.

If you think this is a scam there is something you can do it's called a chain of title contact the original creditor with the original account info witch they will provide to you ask for their recovery department they then will tell you who they sold your account to. Then you can contact that party if they sold it they will provide the information to whom they sold it to and so on.... Try it before you start putting a bad name on something you don't really know this is provided for your protection- Caller: 9514447799
- NI did call the company back and spoke with John C..., polite enough. Just said that someone used my cell number as a point of contact but said he couldn't legally give me any further information.Told me he'd remove the number from their system. Same message as the rest saying that they have tried several times to contact me....
Just a collection agency using whatever number they have to try and get their customer's money.- Caller: World Wide and Associates
