- IRATEThey said they were collecting on a debt from years ago, and if I didn't pay them I would be served by a marshal and have to go to court. I tried to find them at anywho.com, tried to find them at the Better Business Bureau, tried to find them at the Chamber of Commerce. I called the Corona Police Department to have them investigated.

- p***ed off peon!| 1 replyThey called and said " This is a courtesy call about a debt we are trying to collect from years ago before other action would be taken." when asked what action, they replied "a warrant would be served on thursday". We tried to find them on the BBB and came up empty handed. We are also currently investigating further with possible suit action.

- they're bothering me too! replies to p***ed off peon!Has anything come of it? I filed a report today with the FTC. They tried the Marshalls thing on me too. She told it they're commiting fraud. You can't threaten to arrest someone when you have no intentions or cause to. Report them to the FTC. The more that do the better.

- Scumbag Collector Hater| 1 replyThis guy David Noble is an idiot. Not only does he violate section 804 - 806 in the FDCPA, he does not like confrontation when someone like me does call him back and quote the laws to him. My advice to all who encounter this clown or any of his ridiculous associates is to make them prove that you owe them money before you ever agree to pay them anything. The statute of limitations on any unsecured debt is 7 years. They are preying on old people and people who will just pay them to shut them up. If you want to throw your money away, throw it to your gas tank instead.

- TIFF replies to Scumbag Collector HaterYea I spoke to this same guy. He is supposed to be the supervisor. He wasn't very happy when we told him that we had already looked him up on the internet and that we were on to his scam. He still claims that I am a defendant in some sort of case. I think that I would be aware of that. And I know that I don't owe them any money cause I have a clean credit report. If anyone ever decides to sue them I will gladly be in on it too.
- PestDetectiveOkay...here's the scoop on this one... There was no listing for DC Brown & Associates but in pulling up David Noble as a "Business," low and behold if he didn't come up! 41555 State Hwy 74 Ste B, Hemet, CA 92544-4995. The number related to the address is: 951-658-2889.
Now, I also have received a call from 951-735-9988, with a Caller ID of ACCESS ONE. My guess is this guy, like many others, use several outgoing lines which may or may not have incoming accessibility for the very reason that they want to harass you and not vice versa.- Caller: DC Brown & Associates/ACCESS ONE
- THE MISTRESS OF THE UNKNOWN ZONEThis is fraud! This is an individual that looked your public records searched your name. The number has re-routed from one state to another. They could live anywhere. The FBI said that do not give out any information out over the phone. It could be harmful, just don't call that number back. They have you then, they could find out where you live! That is not a good thing!

- XN4CR951-479- 9608 A search of YellowPages.com led me to D&C Brown & assoc. at 1655 E. 6th St., Corona Ca.. While a Reverse Phone Number Search on whitepages.com led me to an unlisted/unpublished number S. Vicentia. An obvious hoax. I have copied all the information( including your very helpful posts) and will visit our very adept Sheriff in the A.M.
Thank you all, for your input, as I hate fishers. (and there are a lot of them)
I will update as information comes in.

- YMESame story, DC Brown & Associated i.e. David Noble on his first call to me, without even telling me about the debt or proving the debt, threatened me by saying "I was a defendant in a cival suit". He was very rude and confrontational. If he calls again I plan on filing a complaint with the FTC www.ftc.gov

- XN4CRJust a short update.I got another call from DC Brown and assoc. on 25 Feb. (Sorry but I lost the name he gave me.) He started by telling me that I had been named in a civil suit from a bad debt from 2002. I then asked him, "Am I speaking to David Nobel?" He stated "No, this is (forgotten name". At which time I told him that I had done some research, and that there is no Company by the name of DC Brown and Assoc. and the number that he gave me comes back to a private residence. I also told him that he is known to be a Fraud and not to bother calling me again for a non exsistant debt and an even less existant civil suit.
I have not heard from anyone about this civil suit since.
I also spoke directly to our County Sheriff who assured me that this was most likely a hoax and will put his Investigators on the case immediatly.- Caller: DC Brown and Assoc.

- fool replies to YMEI think this guy just got me for close to a grand. Said sheriff would be by Thursday with papers for court for unpaid debt. Not trusting the legal community in my area I didn't want to hassle with courts around here and the debt was with US Bank, to which I do owe money I actually looked at it as motivation to do something I would like to do anyway and just moved that debt to the top of the priority list. He seemed to have accurate info. I tried unsuccesfully to stop the wire I sent after he said, when I gave him the confirmation number, that I could save 700 dollars by sending the balance by next Wednesday. This raised the level of suspicion on my part to where it should have been when I first received the call from the female who then transferred me to David Noble. He spelled out the deal and I fell for it for the reason listed above. Contact me at quickmed1@hotmail.com please.
I got my credit report after seeing this collection of complaints and there was no indication of the debt, though it is out there somewhere owned now by who knows what company. He originally said he was "representing" someone, then said it was a conglomerate, then said it was owned by him after al. I asked him why it wasn't on the credit repoert and he said he had jut purchased the loan and that it would be re-reported, but it would take 60 days or so to show up.
So I'm out the thousand dollars and until I get confirmation from US Bank that it is really owned by him I won't continue with the payments. It's difficult to track the progress of these sold and resold notes I think, but I will try. Yeahhe got me and my only excuse, not reason, but excuse (there really is no GOOD reason for being this stupid) is that I wanted to do the right thing anyway and the painkillers I am taking to couteract the side effects of the chemotherapy for my cancer maybe had me in a foggy state of mind. This is not a play for sympathy, but it may have contributed to being an idiot. - ID Theft| 2 repliesSame deal, I received two calls: 1st to my parents-in-law, and 2nd to my father. Both voice mails referenced the same case number and call back number. Someone named "Tina" was on the 1st call and "David Noble" was on the 2nd call. I tried to call the number 951.340.3080 but got a recording for DC Brown & Associates. I did not leave a message b/c I suspected fraud. The "old debt" the call was in reference to incurred more than 7 years ago and I paid it in full back in 2005 - so something fishy was definitely going on. After reading this message board, I decided to file a complaint with the FTC and I will contact local police if they try to contact me again.

- stan replies to ID Theft| 1 replyJune 1.2009: Just had a call from D C Brown and associates. My son had a call from these same poeple May 29,2009 telling him he owed $1500 and if he didn't pay it by June 2,2009 they would have him arrested and have his real estate attached. Funny thing is he has no real estate. So today they call me and tell me they are going to have him arrested if I don't pay the bill. I told him he was a scam and I was not going to pay him. He then called me a loud mouth like my son and told be to shut up. I was not nice at all after that when I finished I hung the phone and then they called right back. I did not answer.
- they got me| 3 repliesI was being called for about a month straight. They stoped calling and I thought it was over. Then a knock came on my door. I was served....Their tactics are rude, i did find out that they are legit and are creditors of record. they offer 50%, i passed on it. Ended up costing me 133% with attny fees and court costs. Settle, they will eventually come.
