We received calls from this number saying they were a collection agency and that we owed money.  Claimed it was a debt we had years ago that was turned over to them and now they are going to collect.  Company had had no support for claim and the story suspicious.

I recieved eight calls from this number stating I owed 13K for a car years I know I did not purchase. The caller stated he was collecting on a debt  I obviously knew nothing about. He was completely belligerent and rude. He would only give the name Dave.This caller made it seem as if it was unlawful if I did not provide him with all my information

i had a call fron the same phone number but he used more than 1 he has 4 phone numbers the one i had was from a woman she connected me to him 877-735-9988. then he told me your son owes us money 3,456.47 i said no way he is in the air force he said you need to give me a credit card number he said his name is mr. Gurev from access one he was so mean he was yelling at me. i told him, give me your number i need to talk to my husband, the number he gave me was 951-479-9612. then he called me back the number showed up 951-479-9615 on my caller id. i looked up the company they said they never heard about him the numbers they dont know him they are from chicago ill. they are a phone company. this man needs to be stopped. we all need to do something we need the FBI in on this. i reported to the police. they file it whoopy do.

I work at a bank and I get a call from a local Branch office stating that John from the Sherriff's department wants to talk to me.  I say okay and the transfer doesnt come through completely.  Then I get a call from a woman asking to be put on hold and so I hang up because I dont take these sort of calls at work.  An hour later, the department's admin asks me if I'm in any sort of trouble.  I say no why.  He says because the only time the Sherriffs dept calls an employer is to get their address so that they can serve someone with an order or a warrant.  He's been calling all morning saying that hes going to come here unless you talk to him.  Hes using foul language.  He says hes already talk to HR.  So I call HR and go upstairs to verify this.  They confirm that there have been no inquiries.  I go downstairs to call a lawyer and she advises me to not say anything or talk to anyone.  Im concerned because I didnt show up to jury duty in that county but from the sounds of it this is a civil issue so the worst thing that can happen is that they serve you with a summons to appear in court.  I go back to my office, and my supervisor gets off the phone with him.  I decide that I'm going to talk to him anyway.  I call the number he identifies himself as Mr. Barrett, the name on the paper says Patrick Ewing.  He states he works for HC Brown & Associates.  He provides a file number.  He asks me if I know anything about a contract I entered into with to obtain a gas card.  He reads back a Social Security Number, which sounds like mine as well as a prior mailing address.  So I ask if hes a lawyer.  He states that he is not but he is in the process of studying to be a lawyer, and Im thinking this is totally sketchy.  He then goes on to talk about how much is due and the legal fees and
then demands that I resolve this issue right here right now or he will note as
refusal to pay.  I ask for an hour so I can validate his claim.  He says
no he must get an answer now.  I tell go ahead then.  I then check with my lawyer later and they told me to not doing anything...boy did I fall for the biggest trick in the book.  THIS GUY IMPERSONATED A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL, HE HARRASSED ME AT WORK, HE COMMITTED A FELONY.  I talked to the FBI the day after and they advised that unless he actually impersonated a Federal office or committed identity theft that it is out of their jurisdiction so Im calling the local police and after reading some of the comments here Im filing a complaint with the FTC because what this people are doing is WRONG.  Dont let these poeple victimize you!!  FIGHT BACK!!

I received a call from this number today with a man on the other line screeming and calling me an idiot and banging the phone on the table saying he was going to Knock some sence into me. He said I owed money from ten years ago and I have no idea what this is in regards to. Who is this, and how do I take care of this. He has called 6 times since I hung up with him yelling at me. What can be done to stop this!

Caller was trying to get someone phone number from me and said they would leave a number for me to give to the person, was redirected to another number 951-479-9614. The man on the phone got very angry and began insulting me - threatening me with getting a warrant, call me a sex offender, looks like they go by many names ths is the one the other numbers answered to  D C Brown & Associates Inc,  Business Address:  1655 E 6th St Ad 4 Corona, CA 92879 Phone:  951-734-9100

These people are scam artists...my recommendaton to ANYONE who recieves a call from this "SUPOSED ATTORNEY" call their local police immediately. What i gather through my personal experience is that they operate under many different alias' and several different numbers. eg; Attorney Thomas Mason, Attorney David Noble, tina, alex, lisa gibbons, nicole....these are some of they many that i have spoke to......whatever you do...give them NO information, and please DONT give them a single penny....its seems they continue to get away with their crime of stealing from people....i contacted my local authorities, and they were as helpful as they can be....they did call them for me, and were able to get them to leave me and MY FAMILY members alone.....they gave soem malarche story and suposed statutes but ended up saying that they would no longer pursue my "ALLEDGED CREDIT ACCOUNT" need i say, that the credit card they claim me to have.....i NEVER DID!

also....about 2 weeks prior they contacted under this #888-867-0667(it is NOW no longer in service)and that was Attn Thomas Mason....hmmmmm need i say SUSPICIOUS.....
p.s these people are incredibly rude, and if you allow them they will try to demoralize you, and break your character....

Hello,  the company name is actually DC Brown and Associates, from Corona City,Ca.Google it and you can see their license info, which expired in August. I've delt with them and filing a complaint with the FTC will get them off your case for a while..Someone needs to put the [***] in jail..Goodluck

My father called me a couple of days ago sayin some one called his home telling him that they where callin about my property in another city here in MN. So he took the number and called me with it. I called it back and the lady that answered could not answer any of my questions, so finally i received a call from a guy who called himself D C Brown I asked what the call was inregards to He started goin on about me oweing over $1400 dollars on a credit card i never had....I tried to explain to him that I never had a card for the company that he was refering to, also i tried to explain that my info was stolen around the time limits he gave to me for the card...He started yelling at me tellin me to shut up and that he had a copy of my credit report in front of him and that i had a history of not payin bills.....this guy was a complete jerk.......sopmeone please tell me what I can do about these calls.......

I just sent them Cease & Desist letters and filed a complaint with the FTC.  If they don't stop, I'll call the attorney general's office in CA.  These people are definitely scam artists.  This David Noble freak started screaming at me after threatening me that I was going to be arrest next Thursday.  He's an idiot.  I'm glad I know the FDCPA.  Scum of the earth, bottom of the barrel outdated bill collectors.

I was called about a month ago and have been harassed every week.Mr David Noble , so he and Conrad Masters, Have threatened me that if I don't pay this credit card off for 1500 from Providen Finical that my mom put in my name in 2001 that he is going to take me to Cort for 6000 and garnish my wages take my house, ha ha, they haven't provided me with any documentation of this card or any proof in the mail. Every time I ask them to, thay blew up and tell me if they have to send me documents they are taking me to Cort. I have filed compliant with the FTC, the Bar, the FCC , Every agency I can fined. the 3 phone #,s are David Noble -951-479-9610    Conrad Masters 951-479-9607 and I spoke to A Margret her # is 951-479-9615 now she didn't yell at me but tried to get me to either pay and settle at 1000 and then lowered the amount to 900 and she couldn't give me any legal documentation ether they all need to go to prison.

A lady calls me in Texas to say my sister has been named as a defendant in an lawsuit and the plaintiff gave them my name to locate her. After I ask who they are she gives this David Noble the phone and he states he is trying to locate my sister. He offers no other information citing Federal regulations crap!! and then gives me a file number. BS any moron can see this is a collection agency for whom I don't know and don't care. Caller ID showed "Private Caller". Now I ask you, what company in business would block their ID?

were you ever served by the sheriffs dept? what happened and where is the case now? did anything come of these calls?

Some of these long lost depts that surface out of no where is from a practice of either Collection Agencies, Credit Card companies or banks selling off "uncollectable or disputed debt". It is a horrible market but basically any individual is capable of getting a business license and approaching these companies or attending public auctions and buying boxes and boxes of debt paper. It is then up to them to collect and make a profit.

I believe if a ebt is older than 7 years old and has been claimed as bad depreciated debt by the original note holder it is no longer valid. This is not in the FDCA but buried in the tax code.
