- Veronica Brandenburg| 1 replyReceived a message from this number saying it was a "firm" doing a summons and background investigation. Gave me a case # 199-08681 and said if I failed to make contact, they world send their field agents to the property in reference. Called the number bank and got an automated background to leave my name and case number for a call back.
I contacted my local police and sheriff department and have nothing they see pending for an investigation and said this is highly suspicious of a scam.- Caller: No name given when called

- Pudge replies to Veronica BrandenburgSounds like a tactic used by fake and/or zombie debt collectors. Common MO. If you are going to "deal" with them, follow the advice of the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) on what to do when debt collectors call and how to tell real from fake debt collectors:
https://www.consumerfinance.gov/ask-cfpb/how- ... a-scam-en-1699/
Also be careful and avoid "resetting the clock" on zombie debt. From Search Assist:Quote:To avoid resetting the clock on zombie debt, do not make any payments or acknowledge the debt in writing, as these actions can restart the statute of limitations. It's important to know your rights and verify whether the debt is still legally collectible before taking any action. - G. Reynolds| 1 replyI just ignored the call one. My name is not Mark and I’m a woman and this is a married name that I have so it’s weird that they’re calling my cell phone. It’s like they’re trying to see where they can stick the landing and who’s gonna call them back? It’s very funny. Here’s the message. I just blocked and ignored.

- MelissaCalled my cell phone on January 30, 2026 at 5:54 pm. Spoke to my husband asking to speak to a person whom he knew which happens to be my sister. Gave a case and reference number 199-08387. It was regarding documents being made to be sent to her. I called her and she got the same phone call to her cell phone. Never get a real person when calling. Instead they want you to leave your name and case number. Digged found this website which ensures me it is a scam for my sister

- Matthew Bowman| 1 replyThey were very rude. Said I was being taken to court for over $8000 from Citi Financial in Wakulla Florida. I have not been there in over 10 years! None of it made sense!!
- Nimrod replies to Matthew Bowman
According to the Citi website, you would have had to have obtained that $8000 from an ATM, as there are no physical Citi branches in Wakulla (and that covers Wakulla Springs, Wakulla Beach and all of Wakulla County).Matthew Bowman wrote:... from Citi Financial in Wakulla Florida.
And most states have Statutes of Limitations on debt that are 10 years or less, so unless they are claiming you defaulted on a Promissory Note and reside in Kentucky or Maine, they could not sue you (that is if they were real).Matthew Bowman wrote:I have not been there in over 10 years!
There are two possibilities that make sense:Matthew Bowman wrote:None of it made sense!!- Scammers found out you once resided in Florida and thought they might scare you into paying them.
- Actual debt collectors are trying to collect from another person with your name, who also resided in Florida, and their attempts at skip-tracing pointed to you as possibly being the person they want.
In any case, block the number, do not engage with them any further and simply delete any voicemails thy might leave before they give up on you. - lynnleft a message for someone and left a case number and threat to go to this person home and to their job
- Caller: didn 't leave company left a name grace
- Call type: Debt collector
