- anonymous replies to AndreI will have to disagree with "Turns out, most of these are just disgruntled people who didn't know what to expect going into the showroom and came out frustrated that they hadn't won the $100k or the car." What I've read on 800notes on these sorts of deals differs from your experience.
1. You were told on the phone call you'd to attend a timeshare presentation. Others report they were told to go to X to collect their prize and were then blindsided by a timeshare presentation.
2. You received full vouchers without having to pay anything for your trip. Others report they received a $99 coupon with zero cash value and had to come up with $199 in cash to go on the trip. They'd effectively won a discount on a trip while they'd been told they'd won a trip.
Am happy it worked out for you but it didn't work out for many. - MasonI got this call from 951-905-5387. Javier at the gifting center left a voice mail on my cell phone. He called from He was more excited for me than I was which is what caused me to be suspicious. Still, the thought of getting the $100,000, a mercedes, a hummer, a trip to Hawaii, the Bahamas, Las Vegas or a free flight somewhere, seemed like an answered prayer. So my wife and I called 888-342-7935 x54 back. This guy assured us we won something, we just need to go to Encino this Wednesday at 6 pm. He said we would get an email and his boss would call later with a confirmation number. The boss called and went through the same rigamirow, and reiterated we needed to allow 90 minutes. He didn't say for sure we had to listen to some spew about a timeshare or anything, but after reading the other messages here, I'm sure it's gonna be a high pressure sales pitch. I have other things to do besides having someone make me feel guilty for saying "no". Besides if I was told I was getting something totally for free, why not just give it to me without wasting any of my time.
- RMYep, it is a scam alright. I just got called this morning and said I won either of the 4 grand prizes, a car, $100,000 or 2 RT flight tickets via Southwest or a 4-day Carnival cruise. I had to come to Ontario and claim my prize. But I read thru all the reviews and was almost 97% sure this was a scam. So I was told a supervisor would call me with my claim number for my meeting with them in Ontario.
He proceeded to ask me my status and I told him I was "separated" (when I am actually single) and he said I needed to bring my spouse for the presentation and I said that was not possible (fictional spouse). So he said he will have to put my status on hold and I will call them back at a later date when I can produce my spouse. What the heck??? Why should my winnings have to have marital status linked to it????That means I did not win after all and it sure is just a come-on and scam for people to sit thru the time share presentation and that they never win anything after all.
MORALE OF THE STORY is : DO NOT FILL OUT RAFFLE STUBS IN MOVIEHOUSES or better still when you do fill them out, read the fine print if they are attached to any time share company. I already have a timeshare and it is a legit one so wasting about 2 hours to sit thru another hard selling one without getting anything is not worth it....Hahaha...had fun this morning with this, so amused but heck people do need to earn their own keep and if pushing for a winning scam to get people to buy timeshare is their job then that is their choice. My choice is NOT to be duped so I advocate being an INFORMED CONSUMER all the time! You win some you lose some.... :)- Caller: 951-905-5387 Pacific Monarch
- vv replies to TomI also received a called 1 (619) 540 - 4601 her name is julie. the same thing i have aportunity to win a car or 10,000. money or win a trip to las veges, acapulco, hawaii. they told me to go encino, ca. Know that i read this, i'm not.
- Won't get fooled again!I received a call from (619) 858-3120 located in the San Diego, CA area. The caller identified himself as "Rico". "Rico" initially stated my name was drawn as a winner from a contest I entered at a movie theater, and I had won $100,000 or a new 2011 Mercedes-Benz. In order to claim my prize I had to attend a live drawing at 4590 McArthur Blvd Suite 100 in Newport Beach, CA 92660. During this live drawing for $100k or a new car, which is preceded by a 90 minute presentation on time shares and travel packages. "Rico" also stated if I didn't win the cash or the car I'd get a definite prize of either: 1)A trip to Las Vegas or 2)cruise to Cancun or 3)cruise to the Bahamas or 4)tickets to an amusement park in Southern California. What a scam! The old bait (you won a valuable prized) and switch (buy a timeshare or vacation package). Don't waste your time.

- KristenI strongly suggest filing a complaint with the FTC. These people have been harassing me for the past year. Even with being on the DO NOT CALL LIST, and asking them several times to remove me from their list, they still call. Not only that, but they always call from a different number Its come to the point where I cuss them out and hang up on them. This is getting rediculous!

- ClairTotal scam!!! First of all, they couldn't tell me what car I had entered to win, nor the city in which I had applied. Their response was, "well you applied, don't you remember where?" Second, I had entered my sons name (he was 5 at the time) just so that he would have something to look forward to, and the telemarketer responded with, "you are the mother right, and took my name." Really, a 5yr. old can enter and claim a 100,000 dollar prize and you call the home number and ask to speak to him because he won???
As I was on the phone with them I went on-line and noticed the companies negative reviews and brought them up. The telemarketer; Felishia, Ildako (who's been with the company 7yrs. as she may claim), and Damond Gatewood, each responded with "what, this is no scam, let me call you back and see why soo many others have called you...
By the way, they are using a new numbers

- milshafI just went through the call with a lady called Chantilly. She was open about what the promoition is, and how it works. We did fill in the fomr at the mall so i had seen the bottom of the entry form fine print regarding the timeshare promotion. we all need to read the fine print - don't be shocked - they need to find customers somewhere.
we may go, i'd like to get the free prizes as i have done this before on a HIlton resorts promotion - they were trying to sell timeshare in Vegas and you got a free week in the resort for going to the weekend presentaion - which was hard sell and painful, but the week in the resort was very nice - i think a dinner gift certificate came with it.
Frankly if you go in with eyes opne, you can take a few nice gifts. if you have the money and travel often to resorts, timeshare can be good but you need to manage it and understand how to get the best out of it,- Caller: diamond resorts

- MarcSimply call the number from another number (work if you can). Advise the answering party that you need your number(s) removed from their calling database. Note the person's name, the date called and the time. Per Federal Law they have to remove your number in a specific timeframe (I believe it is up to 30 days). After that time, if calls persist, file a complaint through the Federal website, ftc.gov.

- NoThanksIt's a way to get you to sit at a 2 hr sales meeting trying to get you to purchase a timeshare. They grease the wheels by trying to say you have a chance to win $100,000 or a free car. They also throw in 2 free trips (which aren't really free) to sweeten the pot. Don't fall for their BS and ask to pass.
