Said they were Publishers Clearing house and that I was a finalist. They said as a finalist I qualified for a $100 gift card and a special deal on Viking magazines. Got transferred, transferred, and finally hung up and called customer service to make them stop harrasing me about this "great deal"

Am on do not call list. How are these people getting my number?

They use an automatic dialer that calls every number in a given area code and exchange in sequence.  It is not necessary to know your number to call you.  Unless they state the name the phone is registered under when they call they have not obtained any actual information about you.  They could also have Reverse Caller ID which displays the name the phone is registered to on their computer when you answer unless your number is unpublished or unlisted.  Telemarketers do not need to know your actual number to call but many do work off "lead lists" of numbers obtained from various sources and just ignore the DNC when calling.

This number calls two times a day. Very aggrivating!

This number just called me and said I requested information about furthering my education. I let him know I did not and told him to  remove my number from his list. He was still talking as I hung up.

STOP calling me!!! I am NOT interested & I will NEVER answer!!!

No one here is calling you.  Invest in a call blocker.

This number and several other numbers have called me 10 times today. After the first call, I began answering my phone with a phoney line like "Joe's Taxidermy! You Snuff em we Stuff em!" And now they just hang up......from now on if you get one of these calls and you KNOW Its them, mess with them back!! Answer the phone with a ridiculous business tag! Start telling them uncomfortable things (ie that you think you have a rash on your butt that's courageous and you want to know what they think would be a good treatment)Make these jerks just as uncomfortable as they made you! Feel free to use the Joes Taxidermy line! Let them call every friggan number on their list and get the same line! FIGHT BACK!

I received 4 calls yesterday and 5 today. No one there and they just hang up.
