calls every night looking for someone that does not live here, & has never lived here. We do not know who this person is. They will not give any infomation when asked, they just hang up.

they called asking for my husband saying that they were an investagtive company and that someone was about to sue him. i think its a scam and they are trying to get ppl to give up there Rebate checks. They had my husbands s.s. # totally wrong and then they wanted to hang up.this # shows up on the caller id but they have u call back a 18005564717. dont trust them.

I have been receiving calls from this number for a couple of weeks now. I finally called back and spoke with a man named Jason Gregg. He seems to have a West Indian (Jamaican) accent and said that he was a private investigator who was trying to reach me about a delinquent cellular phone bill from almost 9 years ago. Now, I monitor my credit on a monthly basis and I have never seen this appear on my credit report, so I was a bit suspicious. Nevertheless, I heard what he had to say about this supposed 'outstanding' bill. I said that I was willing to pay the amount owed, but that he would have to send me something in paper because I don't feel comfortable with having the entire transaction done over the phone. Especially since he called me out of the blue to tell me that I was about to be sued unless I paid, and I had not heard anything from any collections agency prior to that! He finally agreed to send me a letter in via email basically saying that all debts were cleared upon receipt of my payment. I received the letter and found that it was coming from sales@ars99.com. I looked up the domain name and found a suspicious website (www.ars99.com) which claims to be a debt recovery site (slick)! Anyway, Mr. Gregg called back and asked if I had received the letter. I said that I had, but I would have to think about it before making any payments (the letter said that the payments would have to be received by 5/23/08, which gave me a couple of days). He responded that it did not work that way, and I would have to make immediate payments. I refused, and he threatened to note my file and send it to the attorneys who would be sending me a court summons. He said that I would be charged with fraud, malicious intent, and some other crimes. He also said that they would be able to take the money out of my bank account! I think that this is a scam! Don't fall for this!

I received the same call today. I am not going to respond to the call or answer when they call. If you check them out on the Better Business Bureau website (http://us.bbb.org) it states that the company's nature of business is under review. They have not received any complaints as of yet, so I would suggest filing a complaint with them so they can investigate.

My neighbor in her 70's is being harassed over her son's credit card bill from years ago by these people.  Don't have a caller id.  He leaves a call back number of 323-244-4602.  Same information as above on mailing address.  I had him send me an email and they misspelled settlement.

FYI; I conducted a search using the address below in the Florida business portal and a person named Neil Burrowes is listed as the contact person.

I had a guy call me yesterday from a number similar to this. 323-244-4599 and his name is David Brown.  He told me that he was investigating a claim against me for a payday loan I took out in 2006 from TenDollarPaydayLoan.com.  I did indeed take a loan with them that defaulted.  David informed me that if I didnt take care of this imediately, there would be a summons against me.  Here is what is strange: I have checked my credit report, and there is a debt from TenDollarPaydayLoan.com, but it is only for $225.00.  David is telling my I have to pay $750.00.  the address on the letter that was faxed to me is the same that has been listed here: 423 Lake View Dr. Unit 101 Weston, FL 33326.  But the phone number listed on the letter is completely different. 954-376-3754.  I was informed from a lawyer that there is only one company that he could find with that name (ARS) that was authorized to collect in Texas, which is where I live, and that they were located in IL.  He thinks it seems a little fishy.  When I asked David to send me all of the informtion he had on this investigation such as who he was investigating for and all the addresses and phone numbers along with the total debt information, he told me that those were all sealed court documents that I couldnt have access to.  Does anyone know any info about being able to give a summons to someone in a different state?
