A man texted me from this Florida phone number asking about a mini-van I am selling in California. He said his name was Mason Owen.

He said he would pay full price, didn't care about the condition & asked for my PayPal email address to payment.  He even offered to pay extra to cover the PayPal fees.

When I asked if he planned to see the car before buying it, he said his "agent" would come pick it up.

Then he sent me a text asking for the total including the cost of the bike.

I was already suspicious about the whole thing but since I am not selling a bike, I became more suspicious that he is doing the same thing to A whole bunch of people.

I told him I would give my PayPal address for payment after his "agent" came to see the car and haven't heard back from him.

It seemed like he had difficulty with English & combined with everything it made me wonder if it was just a foreign scam to get my PayPal email address.

Or maybe it was just a prank because almost any email name probably has a PayPal account but it doesn't do any good without a password.

Since PayPal is quick to give refunds, maybe he planned to make a complaint & get a refund and not return my car.

You would get a FAKE PayPal  Invoice and be told to wire money to the shipper (the scammer).  He hopes you will wire money before finding the PayPal notice is fake.
This is a common scam with Craig's List--a good reason to state cash and local only in your ad.
