- Jodie| 1 replyI also received a call giving 970-665-4505 as a call back number regarding student loan debt. I also receive the same type of call regarding tax debt with a call back number of 970-665-4542. The number given on the caller ID is always a fake, never the same number twice, and in no way resembles the call back number. We have no student loan debt (I didn't even go to college), and we have no tax debt. The message references the new Pathway Program, and if you google new 'Pathway Program' it involves seeking permanent citizenship in Canada. So not only are these people criminals, they are ignorant criminals.

- SusanReceived a call from 970-665-4542 Informing me that I was on the list of individuals who have a tax debt and that they were willing to forgive it all together. As of this year I do owe federal income taxes although they are being paid. So I am grateful that I look this number up in order to save myself time and aggravation. No one should ever give out their information especially SS number. No IRS or local government official would ever ask for that information over the phone. I appreciate these posts

- Matt SScam call for student loan debt from the "Division of Impact Assistance" for the "pathway program." Incoming number was from northern, very rural Michigan (906-323-8796), so I didn't answer since I don't know anyone who lives there. Callback was for 970-665-4505. I don't have any student loan or tax debt so this is an obvious scam.

- AnonymousAs others have mentioned, this is likely a scam. The caller is referencing a real government program but the means of contact is extremely suspicous. If you are truly interested in the Pathway program you can visit pmf.gov, and if you want to sign up you can sign up viaa the government website https://www.pmf.gov/become-a-pmf/overview/ . The real program does offer some level of student loan relief.
