Phishing Scam. Claimed to be National Medicare Enrollment Center. I asked for a website, they said medicare.gov. Asked if he was a government employee, he said no, but he was licensed. I asked where in TX, he said TX Dept of Insurance. Asked for his website again, he said conversation was done & hung up.

Phishing robocall. Claimed to be the Social Security Administration and starting legal proceedings against me.

Got the same call as Felix

Also the same call as Felix. Badly worded message from computer generated voice.

Rejected the call but got a partial voice mail with a computer generated voice saying something about legal action against my social security number and to call them back. Going to add them to my block list. The scammers just won't go away.

I received the same call today as Felix, et al.

Same as Felix. Left a message regarding legal issues and my ssn

Same.  Said call back before legal proceedings.  Blocked the number.

I got a ca11 from this number claiming to be Social Security and a scam against my number.

Scammers don't have a clue how the real SSA works and they are hoping you don't either.
The SSA  doesn't suspend your ssn, file law suits, freeze accounts related to your SSN or issue Arrest Warrants.


The current scheme is they say your SSN is involved with a rental car found in southern Texas, with blood & drugs. Next theres some address they say was raided and discovered several bank accounts used for laundering money under your SSN, so they have to freeze your bank accounts and issue you a new SSN, but you have to secure your accounts by getting some gift cards.

Another variation is "your SSN is misused in Colorado" for money laundering, drugs, etc ......pretty bizare "off-the-wall" stories, its so hard not to laugh at them.

• Only a scammer would leave a message telling you "someone" is using your SSN for criminal activities, then try to say your in trouble for something you didn't do!
• Only a scammer would say "legal enforcement actions".
• Only a scammer is going to call you and demand you pay them over the phone to avoid an Arrest Warrant that doesn't really exist. You would first have to go to Court and disobey a Court Order to get an Arrest Warrant issued. If an Arrest Warrant was issued,  a Sheriff would suddenly show up at your door to serve it, they don't warn you they are coming and they don't put it on hold until you decide what to do.
• Your SSN can't be canceled, revoked or suspended because it is a number assigned to your birth name for Identification purposes, only scammers say it can. It IS your Identity as much as your name is.
• New SSN must be applied for with a misuse report on the old one and its FREE.
• Only scammers ask you to pay using Gift Cards. They are not designed to be a method of payment.
