Got a call from 972-460-4155 on my caller ID, but no message.  I called it back and had a funny sounding message that said " this number is not in service", but it is not the usual sounding one the phone company gives.  I figured it was a scam or a spammer,

Got two calls from this number today, 4:08 p.m. and again at 4:37 p.m. Did not answer.

Live person who said they were "giving away security systems because thieves are cutting telephone wires."  Asked to be removed, and he kept selling.

I just received a call from this number, I did not answer. I do not answer calls with strange call ID number. Wish there was a way to give payback to them.  

Called today I picked up on 4th ring and played their game by not saying anything.  Eventually the [***] hung up.

I received a call @ 2:00pm on the nose.  The # came across as Unknown Name.  Did not leave message. I picked up to intercept message and they hung up. I called # back and strange woman's voice saying it is not a working #...Good bye.

I got the same call about a security system. Bogus. I'm on DNCL too. That's crap!!!!! Government do not call is full of it.

Same thing here, home security marketing.

I told them not to call me again and hung on them!

That guy Steven must get around, because he called me tonight.

I usually let these go unanswered, but lately I've been answering in a relatively obscure foreign language that I actually speak.  He said "how are you tonight?"  and I babbled back at him.  He hung up.

Now the number goes in my call block list in my Panasonic cordless phone.  No extra charge for the service; just a feature that comes with some of the Panasonic cordless units.

I am amazed it took them so long to get around to me.  I'm usually at the top of all the scammers' lists.  Same old M.O. - no ID, no message - no ethics.  Just more aggravation.

972.460.4155 called I did not answer. They left an inaudible message.

Called, no message. On DNC list. Get a real job and quit breaking the law losers.

Caller ID displayed "Unknown Name" with this number that did not leave a message on the answering machine.

I saw Unknown name and like an idiot picked up. "This is Steven, how are you today?" I said fine and he said "Do you own or rent your home?" I said OWN,   Steven "Well looks like you qualify" I said FOR WHAT??  he said "Home security" I just hung up. What part of stop calling do these idiots not get.

But why do they keep calling back?  They don't leave a message either.  I know for sure that if you block their number, they call back immediately from the same area code with a different phone nember.  Thanks to all of your posts, it's a huge help!

How / where did you learn how to read that ID string?

It's called Caller ID Spoofing.  They're dialing through a computer, inputting a bogus or even a real phone number so it comes up on your Caller ID.  Scammers are now inputting phone numbers that will appear local to you, all in an effort to get you to answer your phone.  Spoofing is illegal, but right now, law enforcement doesn't have a way to identify callers that use this type of technology, which is why the scammers are spoofing their phone numbers.

  This same number called me yesterday and as I do not answer calls that I don't recognize I let it ring but a message was left and the message was from my bank, so I checked my readable voicemail via email and the # on the readable voicemail was my banks actual # but on my caller id it came up from Cedar Hill TX 972 460 4155. WTF? How is this possible? Are they rerouting and listening to all of my calls? This fool needs to be arrested and prosecuted! BEWARE PEOPLE!!!
