- Tex Cortex| 2 repliesReturned call with anonymous VOIP. # is not in service. Voice message said Social Security calling about Extra Help for prescription drugs and gave SSA phone: (800) 772-1213.
- Caller: Social Security Administration
- Call type: Valid
- Diane BurdeyI recieved 2 calls and voicemails today, because I did not know the number, so didn't answer. Both said the same thing, social security, reminding me of a call being made on the upcoming Monday, which I do have scheduled. I found it weird the call was from Texas. I did not have the option to press 1 to confirm.

- Lily T| 1 replyI got a call from this number 972-497-1400. It was to remind me of a telephone appointment I have with social security office. I made the appointment with social security last week. It is legit.
- Caller: Social Security
- Call type: Event reminder
- Tygerkat replies to Lily TThen why are you here? Do you often look up known phone numbers?
- JJThey left a message about SSA help with prescription drug costs. Other people in this thread that actually answered the call and talked to someone, said they asked for personal info including SS#. If that is true you can be sure it is a scam. They did leave the actual SSA telephone number as the callback number, though. Maybe once they get someone to pickup, they start trying to harvest data. Be careful and never give anyone your DOB and SS# over the phone.

- GiGicall was blocked by my robocall killer - but from reading these reports, its to confirm my call from SSA tomorrow. Yes, they SHOULD have a call-back number! I tried to call back but the answer recording was so distorted I gave up.

- Joe replies to Angel| 1 replyI got the exact details you described, saying I had phone appointment tomorrow at 10am and explained how to change it if I wanted to.. Because it is the January of the year I do get mail from SS to confirm and fill out for my daughters disability but I had no scheduled appointment so I almost got sucked in. I will learn more when or if they call tomorrow but I understand they only do reports by mail so I will not give out any info..What’s very odd is this is 2021 and the above comments are 15 years ago and the Texas number is still the same????. I’m wondering if our crooked government is somehow involved helping illegals feast even more on taxpayers since they help them walk right in.
- GeekLadySCAM! Left a voicemail: "SocialSecurity.gov if you have questions or need help please call Social Security toll-free number 1-800-772-1213. We are calling to follow up on a letter you should have received from Social Security about extra help with prescription drug costs.." It goes on

- Jan| 1 replyLet the call roll to voicemail. Recorded message mentioned a letter I should have received (I believe I got it yesterday) to help with prescription drug costs. It does give the 800-772-1213 number in the message. Searched the SSA web page and there is information about getting help with prescription drug costs that mentions an application. So, not 100% sure if this is a scam or a legit call from SSA. Not taking chances though.
- BigA replies to JanIf they sent you a letter then that would be it. They are stretched thin as it is so I doubt that they are calling you. There would be no reason for it if everything was in the letter which it should be.

- AshleySS administration, calling about a letter they sent me about discount prescription drug cost programs, and if I wanted to enroll. Asked me to fill it out and mail it back if so. Came up as potential spam on my caller ID so I didn’t answer it.

- RJJust got a call from this number. IT's A SCAM. The voicemail said it's from the Social Security Administration about assistance with prescriptions. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know. SSA does not have my cell number as I don't give that number out to anyone but my very close friends and family.

- RichThey called and left a message about my App't with SS Disability for the next day. It is not a scam unless you got a spoofed number? I do have an app't for this...
