Saying they sending mail to my old address and need to verify my employment to garnish my wages calls my job me and my mom

Said her nae was carol and they have been trying to get in touch with me to verify my employment address to garnish my wages....Is this a scam or what...

This is an ongoing scam where scammers lie about a person owing them money.

People will block or ignore calls from scammers.

The scammers want to know where you work so they can hassle you with phone calls there. They know the employer (receptionist, etc) will answer all calls. They know employers will fire an employee who gets too many personal phone calls. They want to scare a person into sending them money to stop the phone calls about the supposed debt.

Never answer anyone who calls asking for this kind of personal information. End the call, then look up the number here on 800notes and post information.

I received a call from this number and I had a debt. she told me that it was sent over for a garnishment. I just had a wage garnishment and didn't want to receive another judgment to be filed on me.
