Just got a call here in Montréal - "Veronica Smith - ID 1360" from "Windows Service Centre" claimed that my girlfriend's computer has malware, etc. She had my girlfriend's name (most likely because the phone number is registered under her name) and some kind of serial number for her computer (I didn't double check it).

    Same callback number - 1-973-200-6677

Received call this morning from a female with very hard accent saying she was (Kathryn Jones) from Windows Service Center (973-200-6677). She was saying our Windows computer virus software was old/out-dated and was asking how many actual Windows computers we had. So she wanted me to turn it on and get on it and type in EVENTVWR which brings up a window showing Custom Views with Warnings/Errors, etc. Then she said to go to google and type ing TEAMVIEWER.com OK so that brings you to the TeamViewer software window. There is a button for downloading software and under it is a link for JOINT ONLINE MEETING which she said to click on so the Technical Rep could walk me through getting rid of the errors. (DO NOT EVER DO THIS!) Of course, that's as far as I went with her. And told her I stupid enough to do that. She said Oh OK and hung up!

I'm in the middle of talking with these guys. I did give him access remotely to my one computer, however I also have two others, so I checked up on all the information he's been giving me, and it all fits into this scam. He sent me to www.web2fit.com so I could purchase a new warranty for windows. He also made a whole ton of bogus claims along the way, saying that my computer is at 97% corruption and that it could fail any second. I faked a internet connection failure by turning off my router to cut off his connection and did a check on the programs he showed me and they all turned out to be fakes. (Most of the programs he used weren't even supposed to do what he claimed!) I did get him to tell me who he was and give me the number 1 973-200-6677. The funny thing is, he told me his name is Jeremy, and I could've sworn he gave three different names over the course of our conversation.

Its 11:30 at night and I  just got an "emergency" call from "Steve Martin" who claims to be from Window Service Center.  He needs me to press the CTRL-key and Flag key, then the R key, and give him the registration ID codes that appear on my screen so he can "help" me fix errors that are being sent to my computer via a global router.  If I don't believe him, I can call him back at 973-200-6677 and his employee ID is SM1397.  Oh Steve Martin, you are a funny guy!  Do you seriously think I am going to buy in to this nonsense...even at 11:30 at night?  Please!  Friends, watch out for this scam!

I just got a call from this 19732006677, the guy said something I downloaded was attacking my hardware, which I assume is impossible, because hardware is physical.  He wouldn't hive ma any specifics besides that, so I called a techno-savvy friend and confirmed the scam.

I have also received a call from this number.  I was unable to spend the time with Mr Jack Wilson with a heavy middle eastern accent and have agreed to receive another call to complete what ever procedure he wants me to do to allow him to rip my computer apart undoubtedly for personal information.  is there some way he can be trapped?  Does Microsoft know or care?

Got a call saying the past few weeks a problem with Windows was reported.  We had no problems.  I told him I don't need a call from India.  He said he was from Alabama.  LOL.  No way I was going to get on the computer with him,

    no they are a scam,
I received two calls from these people and they were very persistent in trying to get remote access to my computer. I asked for a number which I could call and the number 1 973 200 6677 was given and the persons employee no. was JW1314 and there name was Jack Wilson. I quickly did a reverse number search and found this link about that number.  I had told him what I had found out about the number to which the guy on the other end of the call got all weird and hung up. From everything I have found about them online, they are a scam. I have also called this number and asked to talk to Jack Wilson and when I was told that he was on break I told the guy I know that this is a scam and that I have contacted the authorities and if I ever receive a call from them again that they will be getting a knock on the door and will be arrested. The guy I spoke to also got very weird on the phone and then tried to cover the phone so I couldnt hear but I could hear him talking to someone and then with out another word to me hung up the phone. beware of phone scams and never let anyone have remote access to your computer. You may loss your identity or god forbid your life saving. BEWARE !!!

Ok... Scam phone call... with this number: 999-910-0238... but read below!!!

Two time today... to my 2 different phone numbers...
I live in Montreal... I'm a webmaster... having a good idea of what it is...

first: IF THEY ASK YOU TO ENTER YOU PC VIA "Ctrl + windows icon" STOP THERE!!!!

I did so for the first call but...  at a second call... I let them speak...

First they say that they are a company in Denver and that my Windows system has problems...  They will guide me through the step to follow to repare the problem...

They were very rushy... I tried to calm them down telling them that I speak french... that my English is not very good...  During the time they were calling, I check out the phone the 1st number they were calling with an other of my phone, the number is not registered... I told that to the guy and he told me that is an IP phone... then he gave me those two numbers to check if its ok: try the first one 1-973-200-6677 and this one if it does not work try 845-262-3972  + his id number 7037...

I asked to know what it's their website... he gave me this:
www.fitser.com/client/contact.php...  A cie based in Panama...  Not Denver... the 845-262-3972 was the phone number on the site but the other phone number is also a scam number...

Then I asked him to send me an other e-mail with details so I can call them back after checking with my technical provider to see if its real...  The guy said ok but told me that they are not allowed to have technical people to call them... It has to be ME calling them back...  Then I asked why... he said again that it's has to be me... not my technical person... Then he panic and spoke faster and faster...  he hang up...

SO PLEASE when you have something like this happening, tell the person that you will asked your technical guy call them back... it works...

I just had "Jack Wilson" call me. I let him rattle on and on and on.  I acted like my computer was really slow, all the while I was checking him out.  He even said he would give me my cid number that only Microsoft and I would know.  That was how I could prove they were a legitimate company.  I told him I still wanted his number to call him back.  He gave me 973-200-6677 and his ID was JW1314. He said he was calling from Alabama.  Needless to say, I haven't called back.
