I was called by this number 978 570 2404 telling me that I have won a free cruise I would receive, round trip out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL to Nassau, Bahamas, docking near the Atlantis resort. She asked me to pay a $59.00 per person port charge/docking fee. She told me for the free cruise I had to pay $118.00 for two people ($59.00 each) and asked for my credit card information, I told him I did not have the money to pay the $118.00 or even the $59 because I do not have the money.

She then asked me for my credit card information to secure my free cruise, not knowing it would be charge because I had stated I didn't have the money currently, I stupidly gave them my credit card number. I have just done a search on this cruise and it is a scam. Please investigate this further. This was done on December 22nd 2010.

The FTC's 3-day Cooling Off Rule http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/products/pro03.pdf gives you 3 days to cancel a sale. I suggest call them and try to cancel and if they gave you the runaround, contact your card issuer, tell them what happened and ask that your card be cancelled and replaced. Do it now. This may be the advance-fee-for-something scam where something is a grant, loan, lottery winnings, doggie, cruise, vacation, free gas, etc., and the advance-fee is for tax, shipping, registration, etc. They may send you a fake check, or may want your card info or tell you to wire cash via Western Union, Moneygram, etc. Wired-cash is irretrievable - once it's picked up at the other end, it's untraceable and gone. Complain to US Postal Service Inspectors https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx , the Federal Communications Commission http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm , the Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and your state AG, as appropriate.

Yes I received the same phone call today when I was at the mall with one of my friends. All excited and static about my free cruise I had a weird feeling about this and  remembering the man talking about first if i had a credit card then exciting me even more about the free foods and room I got , and then he asked me about my credit card number on the back and i made sure to tell him i didnt have it with me and i called my father and made sure this wasnt a scam and he told me to not worry about it because it was one....

Call your bank and cancel your account as soon as possible if you haven't done so already.

Please people don't fall for these scams. Never give out your personal info to anybody asking for it on the phone or e-mails.
These scams have been going on for years and they are becoming more frequent now.

Just hang up or don't answer the Phone

I received a call from this number to my GV VoIP number, only rang once. Boy am I glad I can mark it as spam so that it will never come through. Just a bunch of scammers out to defraud people.

Over the past week I've gotten four calls from this number.  I haven't answered as it is my work number and I didn't recognize the 978 area code.  They never leave a message.

I rexeived a call from this number, I did not get to the pgone  in time.  I tried to back 3 times and no responde it was on my caller ID as Capiral LLC phone 978-570-2404. so I lookd it up on the internet. I found all of your wonderful posts. My husband and I are disabled senior citizens and we thank each and every one of your for your advice.

these a**hole call us on 07.27.2011 and the auto voice mail say something about approve credit card and you have to respond with a key pad instruction.

(978) 570-2404 NEED to stop calling and marketing your business and you just make it worst by doing this, because your caller will hate you for this.

These parasites do NOT stop calling. I have told them repeatedly to stop, not inteseted, do not need their services, etc. They call 2 times a day. Besides that they are evasive and rude.

I recently got a new phone number, This number called today, It was a recording saying that they could get me money to expand my business from a loan with the SBA, If I had been in business for3 months or more. and on and on,  This number is not affiliated to my business in any way. So I played along and pressed one.  and a very pleasent Ms. Shaneah asked whom did she have the pleasure of speaking with today, So I told her she had the pleasure of talking to a pi**ed off private citizen who did not solicit her services to my DNC listed phone number, she slammed the phone down,  I called the number back and kept getting a busy signal.

jUST START YELLING AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS "YOUR A SEX PERVERT "AT THEM AND IT WILL MAKE THEM HAPPY.

Recorded message was already playing by the time I answered the call.  After a few seconds it terminated.  Some kind of sales pitch.  All of my numbers are on the Do Not Call list and have been for a long time.
