CID from Beverly MA.  Electronic phone call, asked to confirm my name by saying YES, which I did.  Then it asked me for my Date of Birth, and I stopped there.  The call originally said they were from Blue Cross and Blue Shield, to confirm something, I forget what the phone started with.  It was all recorded and automatic.  

I hung up and called Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and the customer service rep THERE said they do not call from Beverly MA, and they do not call electronically/automated like that.  I'm suggesting this is a scam or phishing for information.  If I'm wrong then sorry.  I did not call the number back.

I got the same call and did the same thing.  I'm going to have to go with phishing.

Rec'd 2 message on ans mach, caller ID said calls came from "Beverly MA". Both message said calling for Empire Blue Cross and to call back at 866-984-5885.  Same thing - asked to confirm name but then to say or key in birth date. When I didn't do either, the recording said to call the number on back of ID card. Called Empire Blue Cross member services and spoke to human being. She said they had just rec'd an email explaining that robo calls were going out to members of certain groups. These groups signed up for these calls - called healthy advantage - when they enrolled with the insurance or renewed their contracts. The call is legitimate. You can call 877-815-3706 to opt out of the robo health reminder calls.
