978-775-6226 called, we answered, female voice said: 'we have important information to share with you but first confirm your date of birth'.... yeah sure...

Received a phone call from this number twice, with a recorded message to contact Anthem regarding an important reminder.  When I called back the automated system asked me to verify my phone number, name, and then DOB.. I confirmed my number and name, but not my DOB.  I hung up and called Anthem Member Services directly.  The representative I spoke to verified that this call did not originate from them, and that they were not trying to reach me.  Phishing.

Calling now saying they are Anthem Blue Cross and they give two phone numbers, neither a normal 866 or 800#, and tell you to call back and verify your name and Date of Birth. Called the number on the back of my card, this is not Blue Cross' recording, and is a scam.

Called for someone that does not live in our house.  Same experience as everyone else on this page

Yeah - same as all - didn't share any details, but feel like it would be an easy scam to get most people as it actually comes up on my phone as "Anthem BC"

As above then leaving the 855-790-5017 to call them back for an "important reminder message" - Did not call back as obviously a scam if you look up both number

Really! You don't call people back to get messages, especially insurance - they have to tell you in writing.
Besides, all "important reminder messages" are to be left on the voice recorder I have provided on my phone line.

It was a long day of teaching and I was tired so I called back at the number they gave and gave birthdate but then hung up.  Any ideas on what I should do at this point?

Well, since everyone knows your birthdate I would say nothing.  If you don't believe me, wait until you are somewhere around 65 and see how many mailers you get for Medicare Supplements!  Just think, something to look forward to!!!!!
