called and left no voicemail.  called back and it was generic comcast call center.

I received a call from this number - no voicemail but googled the number and found these postings.

Comcast was just out to install service so I'm sure it was them because this phone number called me very soon after the technician left the house, probably a survey. No message was left.

I live in an area where Comcast isnt available & they called me. I have never had Comcast in my life, never even inquired about it. When they called my phone only rang once & they hung up. So I called back & got some automated message. To top it all off, I'm on a Do Not Call List too!

I am a Comcast customer, but this is not my local office. They left no message.

It is Comcast.  I was expecting them to call, and the person left a direct line to call within my own service area.

NOT COMCAST !  IT IS PART OF A SCAM !  I think they are dialing people at random to try to scam them ! they are working from another number, apparently  a cloaking device that lie's to your phone about the number calling it ! prank does not describe this one but it is a close as I could come to

I just spent 10 minutes on the phone with comcast upgrading my service (I called them.)  Less than 5 minutes after I hung up with them, my phone rand and the caller ID identified it as COMCAST 978-848-5999.  This was not the original number I dailed.  The gentleman who spoke on the phone spoke with an accent and said that he was 'having trouble with his service' and that he had been transferred.  I could hear someone laughing in the background.  This is very disturbing as I only made one outbound call to comcast...

you're an idiot.  This is the number for a Comcast service guy named Allen. Not a scam at all. Stop trying to scare people.

This is not a prank call or a scam.  This is the number that COMCAST uses to call back to confirm service or to conduct post-service surveys.

This number is for the Loss prevention department of Comcast. They are separate from the original Comcast centers. They call if you owe money from a previous account, lost or stolen damages to cable boxes, or if someone if stealing services through you or by you.

This is clearly an external number for a group of offices specific to Comcast. My call was from the 'executive office' as a response to a consumer complaint (that they resolved).

Comcast tech calling to after I contacted the Comcastcares_support@comcast.com email account.  Not a scam.

i actually work for comcast and got a call from this number. i didn't have any recent appointments and i didn't call them. i'm thinking it's a scam.

It is a comcast call center in Mass.  I had comcast installed this morning at my new place.  The original guy I talked with to set up the appt was calling back (I let it go to VM and he left a msg) to ensure everything went ok.
