I just got a call.fro. them saythe IRS was sueing me.  They.the. hung up. I called the.number back and asked them what right they had to call me cause i worked for the.IRS i. Washington Dc'  and they then Started cussing at me a dung up.   Beware

Consider the source. These criminal extortionists want nothing less than full and docile cooperation in order to access your bank account so they can wipe you out. Anything less evokes a tirade of profanity and hang-ups.

They said it was the final notice.  The IRS is filing a law suit against me.  I assume it's a scam since the IRS doesn't have any reason to do that.

Our residence was phoned to from 1-979-217-1008, and the party left a recorded message stating that I was being sued by the IRS, and I should contact this number.  I did not return the call because I thought it was probably a prank call.

Left voicemail implying a judgment against me.bfirst part was not recorded due to greetings played first. Probably the IRS scammers.

Received a call from 979-217-1008 (Wallis, TX). I called back and asked to speak with someone who could speak english and informed the caller that I was reporting them to the IRS. Needless to say they hung up. Tried calling back again, no answer. Scams. Reporting now!

Left message posing as IRS, provided case number and number to call.....pathetic scam. Gee, where should I send the rest of my money so they don't come kicking down my door?

The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

Number 979 217 1008 has called twice saying a law suit filed against us with irs to contact this number immediately... Yea right!!!

I have has a couple of these messages on my answering machine.  I finally called back and ask for their ID# if indeed they were the IRS.  This was a foreigner and he was extremely rude saying he was the IRS and he would keep calling my number after I requested they remove my number from their list.  I did not give my name and they would not give me any information.

I've gotten two calls. First one from 1-817-674-7577. Second one from 1-979-217-1008. Both stating I am being sued by the IRS. First one had my heart rate up. For 5 seconds until stupidity left and brain kicked in. I mean really. These people make me want to go through the phone line like Ghost Dad and rip their tongue and heart out. Wait, they don't have a heart. Their tongue will have to suffice.

This caller who had VERY BROKEN ENGLISH FROM THE MID EAST, claimed that $3000 was owed ...didn't even know who he was calling...cursed with VERY VULGAR insults when I did not believe he was from IRS....EXTREMELY VULGAR...PLEASE DO SOMETHING FEDERAL GOVERNMENT....CAN'T YOU GO AFTER THIS GUY????

No and no.  There is nothing anyone can do at the present time.  These people are located in India and Pakistan, and as such beyond the reach of US law.  A call blocker might be of some help.

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.

IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

Our call came in this morning. The number that came through caller id is 0119792171. When I reasearched this, 011 is the code to call from one country to another. They leave an automated message that you are being sued by the irs and to call 9792171008. Glad we didn't call and checked it out first.

Called twice today.  I did not answer the first time because I often don't answer numbers I don't recognize.  Answered the second time and got a recording telling me the IRS is going to sue me.  The phone number the recorded voice told me to call to find out more was the exact same number that had just called me, but there was no answer after 20 rings when I called back.

Same message as all the other ones on web site. I knew it was a scam as an older friend has been scammed by these b------- to the tune of $12,000.00 dollars-another acquaince scammed over $250000.00. Completely broke them they were living off of reversed mortgage on their home.  It is horrible!
