this number was saying they were from breast cancer research.

Called me, didnt answer, no message, said it was from NC, someone said its # used for phishing

Received a call from this number and answered it as it said North Carolina. Person asked for Sam and I told her she had the wrong number. Then went on to ask if I could help with a one off donation for breast cancer....at which point I replied and finished the call.

Caller used the same tactic as another person here reported -- asked for "Kathleen". That's the hook to keep the person talking: "Sorry, wrong number." "I'm sorry, but while I have you on the phone...." Yeah, right.  I hung up as soon as the spammer asked for "Kathleen"; that isn't my name and I heard the betraying "blip" sound which signals that an auto-dialer has connected the call to a call center/boiler room/etc. I suspect the spammers pick names at random to ask for.

Caller was initially unintelligible - then asked for the "man of the house" or the "lady of the house" - which I obviously wouldn't bite on (they called me on my cell phone and apparently have no idea who I am. Hung up without further interaction.

Said they were bill collectors for sprint.
