Faked number - on call back the line is always busy.   VoIP internet phone number.   Looks like they use a number to appear to be in your state - looks like a local charity - when in fact they are not.    This is a "sound-alike"  charity that uses a generic name to seem like the real deal - and with the name so generic it makes it difficult to verify the business.

Caller was trying pretty hard to obtain any type of donation via credit, debit or ACH debit of a checking account.   I could NOT find this group listed on the NC Charities list, so I will have to assume this is a scam operation.

Scams like this eat up a LOT of money that could go to a legitimate cause.   Instead these scammers eat up the lions share of the money with all types of 'expenses' and in the end  little to no money actually gets to the intended use.

This appears to be a professional fundraiser.

Caller: Breast Cancer Research and Awareness

Call came in during lunch hour and luckily wasn't able to answer so I silenced it.  No message left.  No Call Lists are useless because in almost every instance there's no way of  identifying or contacting the caller or their company to report their violations.

These are unprofessional and rude people.

Called about a one time donation to support breast cancer. Not sure if she is legit but I said no thanks.

The Do Not Call registry won't work when the caller is a freelance fraudster. These callers can be working for a larger fraud network but not in a legitimate business. The registry is a filter that legit marketers have to run their outbound call list through. Freelance fraudsters could care less.

Called, I did not answer. Did research and concluded that this is unsrupulous solicitation.

Rang did not answer one of the annoying calls I get every day.

Doesn't work for charities, surveys, political calls, debt collection, or scammers. Works fine for what it was designed to do, which was not to stop all junk calls.

started as an automated system asking for donations for breast cancer. then a gentleman came on to verify my address to mail me an invoice for donation.
