This number keeps calling my mother's cellphone which is actually in my name.  There are a total of 3 people that have we have given this number to, and 980-242-5456 is not one of them.  I googled this number and it comes back as Diversified Consultants which is a collection agency company that specializes in debt collection and related to cable (Dish Network) and communication/telephone companies.  Neither she nor I have ever had Dish Network nor do we owe and outstanding bills of any kind. She will never answer these calls as she only has a cellphone to use in case of an emergency and should she really really need it, probably won't remember how to use it even though the numbers she would need to dial are pre-programed on speed dial and all she would need to press is 1, 2, or 3 and then send.  The cell phone number is also listed on the DO NOT CALL list which is also nothing but a crock!

Unfortunately the DNCR does not cover debt collectors. Even if it did,  I highly doubt they would honor it.
Baded on some of what I read in your comment, it is possible that they are calling an outdated number. This is something that I have experienced with more than one number. They automatically assume the contact information is accurate and the person they are talking to is just trying to make excuses. It is also possible that somebody put your mother's number down instead of their own and the end result is harassing phone to your mother. This happened to an active member of this site.

***A company must be licensed in their state as well as the one they are trying to collect in if two different states are involved.

Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time,date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

Please do not call my house again! This number calls anywhere from 10-12 times a day, everyday. The person they are calling does not live at this number, nor do I know how to reach the person. I do not want this number to call again or even this company from another number!!!!!
