The call came in and a lady said hello, then it sounds like someone in distress, saying they need me, kind of inaudible. I thought it was my mother needing me, very upsetting indeed.

did not answer, they left no message. hung up after 3 rings.

A foreign sound person called about my computer saying there was a problem.  Asked them never to call again

An Indian Guy just called me asking about my computer, If I was the owner, because I have a very dangerous virus and what not, he asked me to turn them on and look something up.  Please beware, I believe he was trying to hack my computer or do a distant connection thing.  Probably to gather info...

I've gotten a call like this before - indian / pakistani accent, says he's from "windows support" and I might have a security breach or virus, blah blah blah....I let him talk, and baited him with a few stupid questions, then when he asked me to "go over to my computer and boot  it up," I told him I didn't have a computer.......DEAD silence....I said hello??  hello???  he said something incoherent and then CLICK!. - I  LOL'ed when he hung up after I wasted 8 minutes of his time...sucker.

Had the same call from a foreign guy saying he was from windows and he was getting errors from my computer when my computer isn't even hooked up after I told him that he immediately hung up. Do not give them any info it is a scam and are trying to get your info.

I just got the same call from an Indian guy telling me I had a computer problem. I hung up. Wish there was some way to put these types out of business.

Just got a call from "Mike" from Windows Support. My computer has been sending out very bad messages, and he wanted to help me find the most very dangerous virus. I told him I did not have a computer, so it must indeed be bad...click...

The same number called me but I got to the bottom of it, they say they are from the support desk but really they are calling to talk to women and to "be friends" with them. Do not talk to them, they will keep calling.

Just received a call from this number. Foreign male advised that he was calling in reference to the windows program on my computer. I immediately requested that he remove my number from his "call list". Individual stated "[***] You" and hung up. I tried to call back but phone went to a fast busy signal. Sure would love to get my hands on this jerk. Nothing but cowards hiding behind a telephone!!!

DO NOT GIVE THEM ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER.  THIS HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I WAS ON MY COMPUTER IN MAY.  THEY WERE PHISHING AND SAID THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH MY MALWARE SOFTWARE.  I CALLED AND IT WENT TO TECH VANTEDGE.  I GAVE THEM ACCESS TO THE COMPUTER AND THEY SAID I HAD BEEN HACKED.
THEY WERE VERY CONVINCING.  ADVISED TO PURCHASE A SUPPORT/PROTECTION PROGRAM AND LIKE AN IDIOT I GAVE THEM A CREDIT CARD #.  THE ONE CARD ACCEPTED THAT CHARGE, BUT SHOT DOWN TWO MORE CHARGES THAT CAME AFTER THAT AND I GAVE THEM ANOTHER CARD.  WHEN I REALIZED THIS WAS A SCAM AFTER CHECKING INTERNET I CALLED THE FIRST CREDIT CARD CO. AND THEY WERE GREAT AND STOPPED PAYMENT AND BLOCKED THAT MERCHANT.  HOWEVER, THE OTHER CARD WON'T ACCEPT MY EXPLANATION AND I AM STUCK PAYING FOR THIS FRAUDULENT SCAM.  THEY ARE VERY CLEVER AND HAVE DOCS TO BACK UP. SO I AM OUT SOME MONEY AND WILL CUT UP THE CARD AND MAIL IT BACK TO THE STINKIN' CREDIT CARD CO.

Caller: Hi Jeremy I'm Patrick from Windows Live and I'm calling about a dangerous virus on your computer.

Me: And I'd imagine you can sell me something that will fix it. I have antivirus software and my computer is clean but thank you for the call.

Caller: This is not a sales call. I'm calling from Windows.

Me: Windows is a Microsoft product. You work for Microsoft?

Caller: No we are a different company. We work with Microsoft.

Me: So you bought my information from Microsoft.

Caller: Yes, that is correct. I'm not going to do anything without your permission, but if you have a few minutes I'll give you free information so you can see how your computer is infected.

Me: Do you have the ability to remove my name from your database? It will save you and your colleagues from wasting your time and mine because I'm not interested and I'm going to give the same response every time.

Caller: You're name is Jeremy right? [Yes.] Jeremy you are a M*other F*ucker. (Hangs up)

Simultaneous 987-654-3212 calls have been coming in my cell and land line numbers.  I have been ignoring them even though the combined rings upset my dogs.  Now I know how to terminate his calls ... in terms that he obviously understands.

Same as above, Indian accent, calling about a computer security issue, rude, short, obviously a scam of some sort. There is no 987 area code within the US, they are gaming the ID system and spoofing a number. Caller ID fraud gets a bit more leeway from the law than I'd like, it's only illegal if they want to do something harmful, defraud, etc. Obviously this is what they're attempting, but it'd have to be proven first. ID spoofing should be illegal for all but law enforcement, plain and simple.

They should add another "Call Type" to the drop down list below... this isn't telemarketing, it's an outright scam.

I ask his name. He did not reply. I ask him where u calling from. He said California. I ask him what time is over there now he said he do not have watch. I told him you are in front of computer and can not see time? After like one minute he gave me time. PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER ANY PHONE CALL LIKE THIS.

Caller with a thick indian accent said he was calling about my windows computer he got my name and number from when i purchased the computer.  I said be more specific, windows is not a computer its an operating system, and he needed to tell me what type of computer was it and where he got my number.  He tried pressing me with more babble about windows and I then told him he had 30 seconds to tell me where he got my info or I was reporting this as a phishing attempt.  He said he was not a "scammer" and then hung up.

Swear at them and hang up.

Same story, Indian sounding guy, malware in my computer sending messages to their server, blah blah blah. I asked him what my IP address was and he stuttered out a completely wrong address.
