First call 7/14 with recording to hold the line for an agent to sign me up for extended vehicle warranty coverage.

I am getting calls from both this number and 123-456-7891. It is a computer calling, so I cannot even tell them my number is on the Do Not Call list. But I will report them. They call 3 or 4 times a day. I hope their computer has a meltdown.

How do I get off this list?

The name of this company is National Auto Warranty Services. You can choose the option to speak to an operator and then tell them to remove you from their calling list. They will continue to call, as they have done in my father's case. When they continue to call, you can then go to:

Scroll down to the section titled "How to Complain". Your number does not have to be on the "Do-no-call" registry in oder to file a complaint (though you might want to add it to the registry while you are on this site). If a company continues to call you after you have asked to be removed from their calling list, you can also file a complaint. Follow the directions under "How to complain" to file a formal complaint against the company.

Every time they call you, after you have asked to be removed, you can file another complaint. It is illegal for them to call you when you have notified them to remove you from their calling list. You also have th eoption of filing a suit in state court, if they continue to call you!

my husband had the 982 number on his missed calls earlier today and when we tried calling it back we recieved a recording stating the number we dialed was inncorrect to try again. he has a prepaid phone so his minutes are deducted as soon as he hangs up and he is sent a text to notify him how much the call had cost him. normally he is charged 10 cents a minute. he was on the phone 4 maybe 12 seconds and it cost him $1.10 so for the people who have tried calling this number back and have a contract or home phone then u may want to call your service provider or check your bill for any additional charges that you may have incountered during these calls.... just to be safe.  = D

Have received telemarketer calls from almost every State in US !! Recently from 123456789 and now 987-654-3219. Also receiving PRE-RECORDED messages -- some from this Vehicle registration scammers. Will be joining newer Website called RottenNeighbors.com and entering EVERY GOV. in every State as the prime Rotten Neighbor !! They allow these telemarketeres to use their State to harass everyone else -- but they never receive these calls.

I receive calls from 987-654-3219 on a regular basis.  I simply do not answer.  By the way folks, I know you know this but you are under no obligation to return calls just because a number is on your caller ID.  I have this phone for MY use at MY convenience, not as a vehicle for unwanted solicitations from unknown callers.

I believe some of these are useing a spider on iwon.com, or trutv.com (used to be crimelibrary). I get a plethoria of spam emails from this group of marketeers, as many as 400 a day.
Thank god yahoo has spam filters. Hey it could be a bug in yahoo's search feature. My cell is a private # and thinking about the innumerable calls I've gotten from AT&T trying to sell me U-verse Im thinking that is the root of the problem,because I do not give out the # to anyone but family.

Both numbers have been calling me at home and at work (school)!!! for months. I have waited several times and told them to remove my number.... nothing seems to help!

This is not National Auto Warranty. Contacted the names listed, they actually answer the phone and seem like a legit business.  I believe this may be a company calls Account Services??

Did not recognize this number on my caller ID, so I did not pick up. When no message was left on voicemail, I looked up the area code online to get some idea of who it might be and found that there was no 987 area code on the list at all.  I found this site when I typed in "987 area code".

I am wondering if this has to do with a collection service that has repeatedly left messages for someone I've never heard of on my phone. I left a message with them last week explaining that they have the wrong person, but you know how it goes with those types -- they never believe you and won't back down until you threaten legal action.

I got tired of it calling.  I put it on reject.  I'm on the do not call list.  I guess they're getting around it by using a recording.  REJECT is the answer.

The Natioal Do Not Call List is a joke. The FCC complaint section is a joke.  Complaining to your telephone company is useless.  They are all part of the problem.  The only results is a good cease and desist letter sent registered mail.  And then you can lawyer them out of MONEY which they fear.  Careful logs and data must be kept and then they get the message.  Their trick is then to change to a different number.

I have received several of these calls as well. The last time they called I told them they were a scam and hung up.

I keep getting calls from 987-988-8888. Looked up number on web and it says it does not exist. So...tried to find the state that has a 987 area code.....there is not a state w/ that area code!?! So does this mean some alien creditor on Mars is calling me or someone above warning me about 2012, the end of the world!!! I really want them to stop. What's strange is I just put my number on the don not call list about a month or so ago. Prior to that I was not getting too many unwanted calls. So....maybe change my number. Problem is I get on-line to shop, look at grad schools, etc. and I end up putting my phone number someplace. STUPID!
