Today I got a call (6:25PM on Sunday Oct 28th) from TBS television (as they say) and notified that I am selected for a prize. They knew my name, address, and phone number. He also told me that they got my info from the coupon that I filled out a year ago. I do NOT fill out coupons. I told him that I do not want anything and ignore my coupon if exists.

A few minutes later, another person called me and told me that he is calling from Better Business Bureau and they can sue me or send police to my house since I am rejecting their offer. I said “Please do whatever you think you should do” and closed the line.

They did not give me their names or contact numbers.

Their number is seen as 1(999)299-7643

My wife received the same call. Someone called saying I had won a ballot of some sort. My wife refused to talk to him and he then wanted to be friends with her.

I got the same call.. the guy confirmed the number then said you have won a gift gorm Lottery Association.. he asked if I was between 30 and 65 and I said no I'm not.. technically I've already disqualified.. but no... he said how old are you sir. I said well I dont want to tell you.. so he said no how old are you.. I said that has nothing to do with this call.. so he insisted and said.. It's not a big deal! I said thank you for your offer I dont want a gift.. so he said.. Sir.. how old are you.. so I said let's say 75 he said then you areno qualifed for the 60 GB Video camera. I said I'm glad I'm not thank you.

someone should trace down who these people are and how they know our info.. I'm under 30 and I knew by his tone that he was a complete scam.. but other people may not realize this any give him the mailing address  to ship the gift... dont risk you life and privicay for a freaking gift.. no matter what they offer.

Same old story, a man sounding Indian telling me that I won a vacation for 2 because I filled out an entry form and when I assured him that I have not filled out one is Annoyingly persistant that I have, or some one filled it out in my name and that I must claim my prize at their gifting center. So to shut him up I made an appointment (never attempting to keep it) and now every 3 or 4 days I get a call asking why I have not claimed my "no obligation" prize!!! The scary part is that he knew my address, home and cell phone numbers!!! WHO are these People and how do I get them to stop!!!

Same deal with TVS, when I hung up the first time they called back to insist it was not telemarketing and I was a winner, I just had to go to one of their locations across Canada to pick it up and it was with TVS (The Vacation Store) apparently I'd filled out a ballot from a grocery store or something, when he 'verified' my information it was mostly incorrect, so when I started asking questions it disconnected.  The star 69'd number was 999-299-7643.

Same for me, guy with Indian accent. He tried to confirm my address, but I wouldn't confirm it. Then I asked to speak with his supervisor and he wouldn't let me. I asked if they had a website, but again, he wouldn't give it to me. I said "listen carefully, take this number off your list and NEVER call again." If they call again, I'll call the cops. SKETCHY!

My wife received a call from this same number and the same guy - he had a strong accent. She tried to get off the phone and eventually hung up.

He called right back and told my wife that he wanted to F&*K her! She was pretty shaken up. I called him back and tried to speak to the manager. He pretended to hand over the phone and spoke to me. I hung up. My wife called the police to report the number.

Same story. The Indian-sounding person called back several times. We filled out a ballot, we won a prize, we're not a scam, blah blah blah. In response to "never call back" he insisted he'd call back in half an hour. After a while of this garbage, they started switching back and forth and I got another gentleman who claimed he went by the name "Shing Washam" (or something.) Didn't listen to a word I said. Continued to call back, but left no message on the answering machine when I just let the machine get it. Definitely considering calling the cops.

I didn't bother listening to the guy, all I heard was ballot and summer and hung up.  Called again, hung up immediately.  Called again, hung up immediately.  Went to my computer and loaded up an MP3 and turned the volume up real loud and sure enough he called a fourth time, and so I put the phone up next to my headphones and blasted music through the phone.

Same type of call, Indian accent only given the number I immediately cut him off and told him to remove our name from any list that he had.  He immediately challenged me as to why.  I told him we didn't want anything from him and he said he wasn't trying to sell anything.  I told him I didn't care and to remove our name.  He told me he would not and would call back when he wanted.  How RUDE....

Got a call from 999-488-7728. Some ROM or RAM named guy (Indian accent) tried sell some promotion from Dish Network. I am currently a Dish network customer. When I said I didn't want promotions and was considering clsoing my account, he said I was wasting his time and I was a bad person! Then I got upset and asked him to stop calling the number. He called couple other times but I didn't pick up the phone disconnected voice mail also. Then I called Dish customer service to complain. They said it wasn't their employee because this number was different.

This number called me twice today, around 6 oclock...1-999-299-7643...The first time a weird voice asked to speak to someone i didnt know, I said, it was a wrong number...and could hear some noise in the background...and the person hung up in a hurry like it was the pest answering the phone..I had a weird feeling about it and as I hung up, litterally 5 seconds later, it rang again, with the same number....a different voice asked to speak with my, with my full name...I immediately said : I'm sorry, she isn't here right now, can I take a message?,  the caller dared to ask with with attitude: " Hmm, excuse-me but who am I talking to?"...I replied "This is her friend Julie"...once again, that person never left a msg, and did not reply and hung up like if they were afraid to get caught doing something...

I got a call on Good Friday saying I won 1 out of 4 prizes. At first I thought the Easter Bunny was bringing me a nest's egg.I love that little Easter bunny guy. He reminds me of my cat only ALOT friendlier. Then I had a sip of coffee and thought who would call on Good Friday. If you're gonna try to sell/scam me at least be courteous about it and do it not on Sunday's or statutory holidays.I won 1 out of 4 prizes but being my "lucky" day my cash prize was 1500.00 and not 1000.00 unlike the guy above. The other prizes were an Alaskan cruise and two other ones I'm not sure as the caller spoke faster then my liver is deteriorating. I hung up after wishing him Happy Easter and he immediately called back. The 1st time he called from a local number. The second call was long distance. I told him I was single as the only way he told me I could get my prize is to come with my wife or girlfriend. I told him that was discrimatory  as I believe it is. He was calling from Premium buyers club. In a way I hope he calls me back because the whole thing was much funnier then the tv sitcom I was watching and besides I could practice some of my international accents and temporarily forget English is my 1st language.

Thank you for these posts.  I just got this call.  Indian man, said I won, said I can choose between 5 prizes cash, trips.  Thank god for the internet and I was able to see all your posts.  It is unsettling that these people know my name, address and phone number.

Same deal, Premium (Buyers) Club.  The "Buyers" is in brackets because I'm sure he didn't say "buyers" but who knows, I could barely understand the guy.  Same 5 prizes, I got as much info as I could out of them.  Address was 1510 Drew Road in Mississauga and they called from 905-258-9203 but gave me the number 416-548-5982 to contact the manager "Kevin" when I could figure out a date to "come in and claim my prize".

    Another scam I'm sure.
