They didn't say anything when I answered the phone.

I've been getting a call every couple of weeks for months. If I've got the time I'll be the 'dumb' computer user to see how long I can keep them talking. Longest so far... 42 minutes, I just couldn't follow their instructions to open event viewer to see what problems those vicious malwares were causing.

The last couple though they pre screened to see if I had a windows computer, ect. before passing me on to their technical department for assistance, or more correctly scamming.

I received a phone call today from a woman by the name of Jasmine Walker from Alert Soft in Burlington, New Jersey (609) 531-0750.  She claimed that Microsoft was receiving red flags from our computer which indicated severe compromise in our operating system.  She wanted me to get on my computer, then she and the techs would instruct me on what to do to correct my computer problems.

I took her information and told her I’d have to call her back.
Contacted my phone company & my internet provider.
Googled and found this link among others.

Boy it iritates me when these scammers call and hang up in your ear.  If they want to bother me with their scams they could at least speak and let me HANG UP ON THEM!

Same call from femail. Call ID 1-999-910-0132. She had the same speil and I said my computer was not on and she asked me to power it up. I asked for her company name and got the Alert Soft name. I asked how this was connected to microsoft as I work for them and would check.  She hung up.

Recieved a call from this number. They asked about my computer, I told them I did not have one, and hung up. They called back one more time but I didn't answer it.

guys when they call pickup the phone and press # sign 10 + time that will send their auto call machine go nuts. try it might work.

I received the second call yesterday from a man with an East Indian accent. The first call raised my eyebrow b/c my PC is not under contract to be monitored by anyone, much less Alert Soft. When he directed me to go to my computer and blindly follow his directions, I told him I have a tech friend that can  help me. I promptly warned my family and neighbors that someone is trying to direct you to infect your computer. During the second call my PC was off due to a severe lightning storm; but he didn't know. I wrote down the steps as he spoke to find he was going into my Event Viewer. Hah! That was enuf for me...I told him I had no authority to make decisions about this machine and got his name Brad Williams at 609-531-0750.

This is a scam, please do not give out any information.
The person could not verify any specfics of my pc. (version number)
If you think that your pc is infected, contact a computer professional to have it looked at.
BUT DO NOT GO TO THE WEBSITE HE DIRECTS YOU TO!!!
