received call from this number  left voicemail - said it was Simon calling from Social Security - seems like a scam to me

Received a voicemail on a Saturday, said it was Mrs. Wilson calling from Social Security; Richmond, California; needed to reach me regarding my claim. I'm dubious.

What is there to be dubious about?  Everyone knows that government workers work on weekends and even on holiday weekends don't they?

Received a VM from Louisse in CA for my husband... social security claim?

Saw this on my caller ID. I believe it may be a scam which is how I found this site.

The Social Security Administration doesn't initiate contact by phone but by US mail.

They said they were social security admin and asked us inappropriate questions

Did not pick up the phone, and let it go to voicemail.  SHe left a message saying She is Julie from SSA, and will call back.  Very skeptical about this call.

Two missed calls from them... caller is shows social security ...tried to call the number back got a fast busy sugnak

Received a call and voicemail from this number, with caller stating he was from the Social Security Administration. Voicemail details indicate intimate knowledge of my application however a call at noon on Saturday strikes me as unusual.

Bad deal had info on my history of employment?

I called them. Legit number.

Scammers often spoof SSA numbers and impersonate them to try fooling victims. This is not a published number anywhere I could find, so it is advised for anyone to call a local SSA office or go to their website to find a published number and not trust this is a SSA number until you verify it yourself from an official SSA source.

Got a call from Carter Vargas from Social Security left message they wanted information about my pension..which of course they already have. Scam I am sure. #510-970-2884

Got a call from this number but they left NO voice message.  I called a few days back to report a death in the family so that SSA would quit sending checks out.  SSA voice mail said to leave name, deceased SSN, and my phone and they'd get back in a few days.
So while I didn't call back, this seems legit to me since I initiated contact a few days back and was expecting a callback.  Unfortunately I don't know who exactly called me so I'll wait for another call.
