Except *67 doesn't work when you're calling a toll-free number.

i just got this number assigned to me 5 days ago, and I've received at least 8 calls from portfolio recovery. I continue to tell them I haven't had any type of credit card in over 25 years, & they obviously have the wrong information. I'll be changing my number yet again, as I'm too busy to constantly go round and round with all this.

It is called a "not me" letter and sent certified so that you get the little green card back. But you can change your number again and end up with one that is even worse then this one.

It doesn't matter how many times you change your phone number as there is no longer such a thing as a new number.  Phone numbers have been recycled repeatedly, therefore, the calls you receive are for those who have had the phone number before you. Portfolio Recovery has a million and one numbers and calls everyone including me several times a week, all different phone numbers from different states and the Do Not Call list doesn't work. I've tried, they still get through. Maybe block the numbers from your phone will help. Good luck. 😊

Portfolio Recovery calls from a million different numbers trying to get someone by the name of Albert. I have told them several times not to call me because they have the wrong info. They STILL call me daily! It's so frustrating!

Sick of these jackwagons when I don't owe nobody!!!

Although I don’t owe anybody anything! You would think if it was a collection agency and they wanted their money bad enough they would leave a message!   Whether it’s vacation scams, phony IRS collection, or any other scam that tries to get your money I’m sick of it!    I have had my number forever and I still get these calls every single day. I have blocked so many numbers I couldn’t begin to count how many . Sometimes I hang up first other times I answer and hang up right away. It doesn’t matter what I try to do to keep these calls from coming they come anyway.   We live in a world where there’s no concern or common decency for anyone. Maybe the phone company should regulate how they give out phone numbers.

And how would that stop scammers from spoofing phone numbers?

Don’t know how!  Just venting!  I thought if they were allowed only one number instead of a block of them it might help.  I don’t usually comment but when I get these, especially early in the morning it infuriates me!

You need to first look up caller ID spoofing.  Then you would know why they don't have a block of numbers issued by the phone company.

Blocking numbers from your phone doesn't work. They end up calling from other numbers.

Deliberately unidentified caller since declination text didn't bounce and refused to identify self. Since googles as robacaller, seems thus call from cell phone, unlike today's call from another seemingly local number that produced "error invalid number" in response to text.

They call relentlessly; day & night. No outstanding debt & in good standing. Portfolio Recovery NEVER leaves a message; reason for their call. I have blocked their number, yet they call w/ new number. Just let it ring, report & block.
