this has to be a scam I called the number back and he ask me my name I said that me . Then he was asking my to verify my address , I said you tell me , he wouldn't tell me and hung up on me.

Debt collector.  They have to verify that they are talking to the alleged debtor before discussing the alleged debt.

You will need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt, and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

I received two phone calls today, Tuesday July 25, from this number.  The first call went unanswered, due to the number being unknown to me.  And there was no voice mail from the first call.  The second call I did answer because I had read the info here.  And as I have no debt that they should be collecting on, I wanted to update their records about my phone number.  However, when I answered, it must go into a queue, because no person responded.  There was just dead air.  I waited over a minute, and then I hung up.

Inasmuch as I have never received any debt letter from this company, I will simply be blocking them.

Thanks for your information.  I had two calls from them today, and I was sure that I had to be mistargeted, since I never received an initial collections letter.

I looked up their web site, which had a contact number 617.965.2000 x 4490.  I called it, and they confirmed that they were looking for the woman who had my cell number before me.  Which is what I suspected.

I do deal with these places as a medical biller & they have to have proof you owe the debt! They can not go by something years old or word of mouth! If you present them with facts you don’t owe said debt, they have to remove it from your credit & remove your information from their systems as you never owed the debt to begin with.

They have called before but answered it & they hung up after the second hello! Filled a complaint with the BBB because that usually does work! Then they tried to claim my spouse & I owed a debt to an apartment complex we hadn’t live at in years! The lease they were sen in 2021 was from 2018. They said we owed for December 2020 & January 2021. I presented them with an email showing our up to date lease for a completely different place that we lived in at the time! They still refuse to follow the law!

 As someone who deals with these places as a medical biller, BigA is more hot air than fact! They do have to notify you but it’s not within five days! They can do the old way of snail mail or email if they have your email! They also can’t come after you without factual proof you owe the debt! What they do is buy from places! They don’t care if it’s a legit debt or not, they will buy fraudulent debts, past seven-ten year old debts & legit debts! They try their tactics to scare you into paying them. If you know how the law on these things are, you can get them stopped! With this place, (Ccs) they think they can push people around & harass till they get your money. They forget about lawsuits being filed because they have had a few against them! They are going to get one from us as well!

This is a scam! They claim to be a credited collection company but they harass you over a debt you never owned! They have been harassing my spouse & I for some time now! We are actually going to take legal action against! They are trying to collect for an apartment we did not live at! Gave them the proof of where we were living at the time they claim we own the debt & they continue to ignore the proof!

Sounds like you did everything backwards and I bet that when you gave them that "proof" you didn't send it certified, return receipt did you?
