when she called back she said that she had a GPS tracking device on my phone and knew where i was and when i politely declined the car and the money she told me to "[***] my [***]"
They are all scams. We have been receiving phone calls for the last two years and even after going to the Police here in Hawaii and filing a complaint with the FBI, they are still calling. I just received a call this morning from a John Reese LL #45993 claiming to be from the Sweepstake Distribution Center in Washington, DC #202 470-4844 providing me with an ID Claim # ASN 79301 for $385,000 cash.
I supposedly won the 3rd place prize and will need to provide an ID. He informed me that their insurance department will be contacting me to make delivery arrangements through Bank of America via FEDEX, etc. He wanted to know if I had been contacted, etc., which I said no. I'm playing along with them but will never send any money to claim a prize that I supposedly won which I didn't since I have not entered any such contest, especially in LV.
These people are definitely coming out of Jamaica or Nigera and are using Englishing speaking individuals because their accent is very noticeable. We are simply clicking on and off with the phone calls so they are not able to leave any messages. We have been down right rude to them but they still keep calling and are using profanity language.
Please people, unless they appear at your door (Publishers Clearing House) with roses and champagne and a legitimate truck with TV cameras, etc., DON'T FALL FOR THESE IDIOTS! If you've won anything, you should not have to pay for insurance or the delivery charges. This is where they are catching everyone. We must put a stop to these crooks and I'm not sure what it will take to catch and stop these thieves!
God bless America and I wish they would go back to their own country and stay there.
Since "scham" is not a word recognized by persons who have actually attended an English class, you're right, the contest described here cannot be one.
Here are some Vocabulary Building terms which do apply: bogus, criminal, deceptive, dodgy, fake, false, fraud, illegal, lawbreaking, misleading, suspicious, unconscionable, unlawful
Here are terms describing you: charlatan, deceiver, liar, shill, trickster
Better let your boss at the call center write the next spam. You need more training.
i just recieved the same phone call from a twyla baird at mcdonald hopkins lawfirm in cleveland ohio. Told me i was 3rd place winner in american shoppers network for $130,000 check. She told me she couldnt give ma all theinfo because the banks were closed and when i called it was before 4pm before the banks closed. It sounded like she was eating on the phone and was not very professional. So i thought it was a scam from the begenning because i have been recieving these phone calls for over a year but different numbers. So i googled the lawfirm and they are very highly respected and well known so then i googled the number and yes i was right it is a scam. Thanks for the info.

These SOBs have been calling me from the numbers above and also have been very pushy about getting me to the western union, by this way one can easily figure this is a scam, the poor SOBs cant even speak the english language very well. It took me almost 20 min to figure out what they were pushing. So I switched the tables on them and tried to sell them my junked up truck for 2500 bucks. After I began to be pushy back he hung up on me. A few minutes later a guy who did speak a bit better English was able to convey to me the real pitch. I once again tried to sell the truck to them for three grand and I thought I had him hooked. I told him I could bring the truck to him and he told me he was in Las Vegas. After he still tried to have me go to western union I asked where I should send the truck. He replied that he was calling from California. After about five minutes of haggling, he didn't want to buy my truck and I told him that we cannot do business. He just hung up on me. That dealt with him. If you get a call from 876-275-7463 or anyone trying to get you to go to western union try to sell them something, you never know.
