These filthy little animals have been particularly active the past two weeks. Since they all sound (and probably look the same) I have no idea if I am talking to one or several SHLF's (Sub Human Life Forms.) The pitch has been the same though: "prize package on the way," "876 is a toll free number," "we are located in Las Vegas" and "go to CVS to buy Green Dot reloadable Money Pack card."

my mother in law is dealing with this as we speak! Luckily I had just seen something on tv about lottery scams- the one featured was the "Jamaican lottery"... thank God I was at the house when he called back. He had previously told her that she had won a shopper sweepstakes from a purchase she had made at wal mart or walgreens (and named about 10 other stores any1 has shopped at @ one time or another. He then  asked her to pick up a "green dot money pack" card for her to pay $500 to activate the money she had won. She said that she had bought one to see what he would ask next-- of course he asked what the numbers were on the back. She then told him that she would first check out the website and the Better business bureau and then call him back, at which point he got really upset and tried to get her to give the numbers again. She said she'd call him back. Now, we are going to alert the authorities and give them ALL the info. we have on them! By the way- he DID have a Jamaican accent. PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!! AT LEAST RESEARCH BEFORE YOU GO ANY FURTHER OR GIVE THEM ANY MONEY!!! THEY FEED ON THE KIND, HOPEFUL, AND DESPRATE. IF THIS HAS HAPPENED TO YOU-- PLEASE CALL THE AUTHORITIES! HELP THOSE WHO HAVENT BEEN SCAMMED YET AND SHUT THEM DOWN!!

My sister in law just got the same call and unfortunatley before I got there had already lost 800$ to these idiots. The confusion that they intell is horrible. They claimed to be local and even were calling from local numbers. Robert Reynolds was the guy who called then they had the same guy act like he was the Attry for these people by the name of Mr. GreenField. Bad accent,...same people. But My sister in Law is a bit slow and buys into these things all the time. I have the news stations coming today and have talked with local police. I will also call who ever else I need to. And after that they plain herassed her for another hour calling every phone she had non stop.

I was scammed 2 weeks ago by a company that said I won the sweepstakes from Winter Haven Fl.The bad thing is my wife tried to tell me not to send them anything, but I did and they called me everyday. This missstake costs me a lot of money that I may never get back. The company was American sweepstakes, and they are nothing but liars and want nothing but your money.

I could have been avoided by asking yourself one question.

"Did I enter in a sweepstakes?"

Most of the time when anouncements like that come, they're usually a scam.

I received a call just less than an hour ago (2:20pm HST) from Mr. Green of the American Shopper's Network.  He told me I won 2.5 million and a new Mercedes.  He asked me to find my last WalMart receipt.  When I told him I didn't have it, he asked what i bought (car battery).  Then he started asking how far to the nearest WalMart or Long's (50 mi).  He then gave a check # I think to consider a confirmation #.  Then came rhe whole taxes thing.  Wanted me to drive to my bank and take out $205.00 and then go to Long's Dtugs.  I told him I was not going to take a 3 hour round trip to pay $205.00 on a check I have not seen; he hung.up!.  Also, everytime he asked me to do something, he said he was still on the line even though I could not hear anything.  When I spoke, he then responded.  The area code did not show on my iphone but did show as "blocked" which I usially don't answer (don't know why I did this tme) but it was kind of fun playing with him.  When I searched the internet, I found this site.  EVERYONE WHO HAS EXPERIENCED THIS SCAM NEEDS TO POST HERE AND LET MR. GREEN OR ANYONE ELSE THAT AMERICAN'S ARE NOT STUPID, IGNORANT OR EASY PICKIN'S (even though our government might be).  Stay aware, if scam enters your mind e en for a split second, it isually is!  ALOHA!

I recieved a call today from some [***] calling from 8764303715, saying that I won 780,000 dollars and directed me to go to longs and purchase a green dot card. In the green card he asked me to put $300 in and call him back and give him the number of the card so I can claim my prize. When asked about the $300 he said it was for insurance purposes and I knew right off the back that it was a SCAM! To the jerk that gave me that call, if I ever find out who you are, I will beat your ass! I live a good life with my happy family and I don't need [***] like you to ruin my family DUMBASS! Instead of scamming innocent people for their money, go back to school and learn English! Keep your $780,000, it must be rocks! Remember guys if it's too good to be true, it's a SCAM! Peace out! I didn't get scammed! Hah!

Received a call on my landline today. (12/11/13) The caller, an "Officer Nelson", who claimed to be with the "Protection Agency" that was hired on my behalf to protect me from scams, said that I had won $15 million with the American Shoppers Network. She called from 516-422-1868, a cell # registered in Cold Springs Harbor,N.Y. She had a Guyanese accent & spoke verrry slowly, like she was reading from a script. She said that all I had to do was call an Ali Brown at 425-406-4325 with the special acct. & PIN # provided by Officer Nelson to me, and to give Ali Brown my bank acct.#, & my bank routing #'s, so that the money can be wired into my bank acct. from the Federal Reserve Bank of California, where my $15 million supposedly is being held. After I followed these instructions, I was to call back Officer Nelson at 855-504-0312 ext.1 and ask for her Mgr Dorothy Pelman, NONE of which I did. BEWARE ..I have since reported this incident with ALL phone #'s involved & detailed information to the proper authorities.

    (1) There is no "Federal Reserve Bank of California."
    See: http://www.federalreserve.gov/otherfrb.htm
"The Federal Reserve officially identifies Districts by number and Reserve Bank city."

    (2) Unless you are a depository institution, the United States Government, or the Treasury of the United States, no Federal Reserve Bank is "holding money for you."
    See: http://www.richmondfed.org/faqs/frb/
    "What are Federal Reserve Banks?
Federal Reserve Banks were established by Congress as the operating arms of the nation's central banking system. Many of the services provided by this network to depository institutions and the government are similar to services provided by banks and thrift institutions to business customers and individuals. Reserve Banks hold the cash reserves of depository institutions and make loans to them. They move currency and coin into and out of circulation, and collect and process millions of checks each day. They provide checking accounts for the Treasury, issue and redeem government securities, and act in other ways as fiscal agent for the U.S. government. They supervise and examine member banks for safety and soundness. The Reserve Banks also participate in the activity that is the primary responsibility of the Federal Reserve System, the setting of monetary policy."

My mother just got a call this morning. Thanks for the posts as it saved her $5000k. It won't get back the $200 spent on miscellaneous sweepstakes entries from last Month or whatever she racked up this month so far but at least I caught the big one. Hopefully she'll stop now. Thanks again.
